hey guys,

ive got a 93 gsr lancer and the motor has blown on it.

Im gonna order another 1.8 motor for it.

I was wondering, im looking at getting some forged pistons for it and getting a td05 16g, evo 3 injectors, bigger fuel pump, evo afm etc.

Can i run these on the 1.8 motor using the standard gsr computer or will i have to go aftermarket.

Thanks

ha i wanna fix the motor and get some good power the cheapest way i can.
I agree the 2 litre is a beter motor, but the vr4 motor has only extra 10 hp more than the 1.8 motor.
Whate else is involved in changing to 2 litre.

Can i use a vr4 driveshaft thats needed or do i need a genuine evo one??

I understand that needs to be changed as well as the engine mount at front. rewire throttle body etc, BUT is it true because the 2 litre motor sits higher i would need to change bonnets to an evo bonnet.

Can i buy the motor , driveshafts and evo mount separeate or bettr getting a halfcut>

Ive read up on these but still not very familiar with how much work i going to be involved. Whereas with the 1.8, everything is already there to work with.

What do people think and can you buy these on their own , does anybody have any for sale or know people that do?

I reckon u stik with the 1.8.....
GSR lose all meaning when u stick a 2ltr...not only that but its a common as a whore at in a brothel..

Dare to be differnet i say

I was in the same position 2 years ago. Went for the 4G63. I've never regretted it for a second. I ended up spending about $1000 more that what it was going to cost me to rebuild the 4G93 but i got upgraded brakes and climate control.

Each to thier own though.

Shityeah, time for you to get a 2 litre turbo... there's a reason why everyone upgrades - cheaper power, more torque, parts availability... they all cant be wrong

I'll agree with Rob on this one
But if your after a replacement gsr engine Mine's getting pulled out in a couple of months to make way for a RSEII 4G63t, it has a ceramic coated exhaust manifold portmatched to New casting Evo3 exhaust housing with a rebuilt 14b TD05 done right has done around 30,000 since full ground up rebuild all new gaskets water pump pulleys belts ect.. PM me if your interested in it.
