hey i put blue leds in my dash cluster it looks sweet...pretty easy too

cheap upgrade ill post up some photos later tonight wen its dark...

When i purchased my gsr they guy had done this already. If i can get myself out to my car tonight i'll take some pics. But no promises.

Well there's no use me putting mine up now cause mine looks exactly like that really. The lights around the aircon dial arean and stuff in mine were done aswell though.

so how does one go about doing such an operation? Whats involved and how many leds (and what type) do you need?

cheers

basically...u need 8000k leds an correct resistor(ask guy at dick smith or watever),solderinmg iron an solder

1.pull dash out
2. remove all light bulbs that illuminate the back ground....(just teh BLUE cased ones)
3.work out positive negative
4.then solder up leds an resistor an then solder them to teh copper coil wear they plug in an just point the leds inside the unit...

ill pull it out during the week an take a photo to help u

hmm you sure you gotta care which is positive negative??

Long time since I have played with that shit but I thought it didn't matter.

Don't know how mine were done as they were done when i got the car. Not too sure on the type of bulb that goes in there either but this ebay store has T5 led's

Also another way to do it like my brother did is you can get clear red/blue/yellow model paint from tamia. Take out the bulbs and give it 3-4 coats of that. I have a blue, red and normal coloured lights for my boost gauge that i can put in.

Oh and here is my aircon area done also. Sorry about the quality but it's just a camera phone shot done on the fly.

hey tuffrice that looks good mate, alot better than the el gauges everyother pleb has in their car....mine included :lol:

LED = Light Emitting Diode.

Diodes are designed to only allow the electric current to flow through them in ONE direction.
