hey guys, is there a major difference in looks when it comes to getting say a fibreglass evo 2 copy front as opposed to getting the original evo guards and evo front..??

has anyone got any pictures of either to indicate difference...
i want to do a cooler upgrade and instead of cutting up the stock bar, was thinking might as well change the front and get rear evo 3 pods..

thanks Peter

i don't think anyone makes fibreglass evo2 bars.. they make evo 3 ones though..

only difference would be the wider guards.

some places make a decent kit with atleast a few layers of fibreglass.

but u will find most will try to cut costs and make it with like 2-3 layers.

some dont fit properly.

and they tend to crack if its not made properly. ( or gets hit)

i know your probably on a tight budget.

personally i would rather wait n save the cash and buy parts bit by bit and do it the proper way.

if u modify things the proper way from the start you will find that it in the end it may save u some decent cash instead of having to fix stuff up over n over again down the track.

hence why im trying to do things the right way and build it with decent parts but also trying to get the best prices for them while im at it.

if you got patience sometimes u stike it lucky n grab a fair few really good parts for practically the same price as buying something crap.

yeah true that..

well then i gues i might just modify the stock gsr front bar to fit a VR4 cooler or something along those lines...

Andrew at CVAP has EVO bumpers. I know he's got EVO3 ones. An option if you want to go genuine EVO bumper and get around the front of the guard issue would be to look at getting a panel beater to modify them for you.

yeah i was thinking of modifying th front bumper.. but then say in future when i do want the guards.. id have to get a different bar wouldnt i?

how does it looked modified anyway? does anyone have a picture..?

If you're looking to get the bumper modified you'd be better off getting fibreglass (IMO). What I was suggesting would be to get the front of your guards modified to suit an original EVO bumper. Depending on how good a panel beater does the job they should probably be able to flare the fronts out enough to match the ends of the bumper nicely.
