So I met a guy named Michael from auto 1 midland, and he tells me that BOVs are illegal here unless they are plumbed in? Is this true? If so I guess I blimmen wasted my time getting one

And according to what RocksolidVR4 was told at the pits, it has to be a 'quiet' plumb back as well. They ping you if it's too noisy.

I don't buy it myself. If I had the time I would investigate further just for my own interest.

The ruling on atmo bovs is because of emissions thbomk. The noise thing on a plumb back is a crock of shit imo, I have yet to see a dB figure that a bov must comply to, and as much as main roads want to think their job is subjective opinion, it's not. You comply to the rule, or you don't.

Maybe I'm just getting too old to put up with the bullshit nowadays........... B reg all the way!!!

Definately call BS on the noise rule. It's emissions. I remember looking it up ages ago for Victoria. Think about it, if you don't run a BOV and just have straight piping, will they ping you for noise aswell?

I had a shiny plumbback one on the wrx. Pit man said i had to make it so it cant be heard. So i pulled it off and blocked the holes. It still made same/similar noise without it as it was hard piped and pod/cai. He was happy and passed it.

Yeah, you'll get people that tell you something. Thats why I respond with "show me the reference".

Edit. With that said, I did have one cop respond with "here you go" and gave me a printout on the spot of legal modifications. He showed me that some of the mods were fine (which i knew) and the ones I had to remove/fix. I was happy to do that.
