good choice the 8MR valve......but there are still cops out there that will give you grief for them because the don't look stock.Even tho they are made by Mitsubishi.

for a bit more stealth and good performance the plastic later model evos.....look standard

We talking bov's? Totally forgot I wanted a psssshhtt'er again. The 8MR bolts straight on I believe:

Who has what on their cars? :)

I think ive got the sard r2d2, apparently its not opening at low boost or spring too tight in the bov causing compression surge... or I may have set something wrong in my hks evc.

=o whys that oem 8MR bpv so expensive....

heres some dude doing test leak on a evo8 bpv

I want to know what's the best option to keep the car quite at all time and still has the performance... so bov out of the window for now. Is there a better BPV out there would suit the rvr?

If you're after 'slightly' better performing bov, EVO 8mr FTW. It won't be any louder provided you still run factory airbox. If you run a pod, it will be quite loud off throttle. Imo, the factory HSG one is fine even at 1bar, so unless you're running bigger boost than that or a bigger turbo, don't waste your $$.

Or just do like me and run a pod, stainless intake, and no bov for ultimate flutter goodness :)

I run the EVO VIII MR metal BOV on my HSG.

It has the tightest spring of any BOV I've had on the car. Previously I was using a Tomei Evo III BOV.

I noticed the EVO MR BOV has the best sound. The Tomei is loud but on full throttle / boost, the EVO BOV sounds awesome!

I'm runing the Alli Evo 8 MR bov. As above, it does have a stronger spring & can hold 23psi, not that I'm runing that high atm.
A higher psi turbo actuator or boost controler or an oxy valve, can adjust your boost.
Cheers !

Has any one got a picture of the 8MR metal bpv? Some one is selling one, I want to be certain that i'm getting the correct bpv. I had a look on google the bpv from evo IX looks similar to the 8MR bpv...

Try searching for BOV not BPV

Thank you for the pic Dean.

I can see some one is selling the MR8 BPV and a EVO X MR BPV at the forum... Not sure to do with which one, suggestion??

The X and the VIIIMR are basically the same, the nipple on the 10 faces towards our intake, which is better for the vac hose that connects to the inlet manifold (just makes it cleaner)

So the VIIIMR, IXMR and XMR bovs are the same. All three can hold up for 25psi comfortably and with the X bov nipple faces different compare to the 8 and 9 bovs.

i might get a 9 bov and crush iT!
