just wondering if anyone can suggest a place in melb (preferably northish) that can make braded water/oil lines for around the turbo at a reasonable price...

gonna replace em all while i have the sucker off

cheers J

i can get you ProFlow (PFE) fittings on the north side, just make the lines yourself.....

Get the oil feed made in -4 teflon crimped.
The water lines you can should probably reuse.

Run the oil feed from the oil filter housing instead of the head if you have a sleeve bearing turbo

the reason i have it all off is cause the water return line that loops around under the turbo sprung a leak.. and it shits me every time i go near it as it need to be gently persuaded out the way.. its going braided for sure.. others will depend on price...

i'm just running a stock 14b so thats a sleeve turbo isnt it?

where would you run from at the housing.. where the pressure switch is? i already have a T peice there and a pressure gauge so another hose might make it a bit crowded

cheers J

Why not leave it where it is from standard? i run 15-17 psi daily and have never had a problem.

Im guessing that an oil feed from the oil filter houing would give higher pressures. What would be the benifit of this?

The head has lower pressures which is ideal for ball bearing turbo's but the sleeve bearing turbo's like the higher oil pressure so its best to take it from the oil filter housing.

You can pre-buy the lines from the USA.
As for water lines, in order to do the one to the thermostat housing you'll be ok to fit a push on hose with a clamp, but the the turbo, you'll need some adaptors to make it work.

A quick and easy way of doing it is to cut the lines/ flare them out (put a lip on them) and turn them into push on fittings with clamps.

Would you use a reducer in the line also, if running a ballbearing turbo off the head?

make sure you ask for the speedflow braided hose when you go to pirtek otherwise they will give you they shitty chinese made stuff.

I agree, very helpfull place, and I calculated roughly that I was able to get three hoses with a heap of adapter fittings etc for cheaper than the price Dean payed for two, I had to put it all together but it aint hard....
