hey guys...

got a Proton GTI and have just done bit of an overhaul...

put a set of EVO 2 brakes on the car... just wondering what brake pads you guys recommend??

EBC green stuff i have heard are good... what u guys think...

anything else worth trying...

thanks in advance...

Aaron

i got racebrakes rb74's..

really good for hills use, street-race use, but will probably glaze up a bit just around town

i've got greens
im gonna try reds next..

greens okay, but not as good as i expected

maybe its my brake fluid?!?!..

Use & recommend Lucas...

Good feel, ample bite, fade late & predictably.

Also, relatively cheap :)

I've got the ebc greens, came with the car.

this is the second set ove owned, both have had excessive brake dust, first on the front wheels on my libero GT, second on the rear of DIE STI.............

can complain though, they stop the car.......

couldnt imagine how shit they'd be if i had single pots on the front

Generalisation time:

Brakes NEED friction to work.
Friction = wear.
Wear on brake pads = dust.

Brake dust is your friend :!: :)

i have to agree with mike (sloth)

the lucas pads he fitted on my car are awesome :)

still gives me a headache if i brake too hard

i have used a range of pads on my car..
from pagid - right through to ebc reds (on the car atmo)

-pagid street compound not exactly which code- high amount of black dust, but top pad
-pagid blue unsure which code - long time to warm but an awesome pad
not good for street at all
qfm gold painted- good pad once warm, effort needed. way too hard on the rotors, major damage in a short time
-ebc green - good pad, ran out of brakes a few times. had to really push them tho
-ebc red - good pad, although i havent had it on the track yet. appear to be an excellent pad. after light brake (around town applications) ive found get a bit noisey - all it needs is a bit of deglazing... a coupla decent stops and away we go again

decent brake fluid - makes a heap of difference if you plan to push your brakes
