you put that pretty well. Its a shame those in power don't see how simple and argument like that is.
I totally agree with power restrictions or the like, for P-platers. It cold stop alot of young deaths and positively change the motoring culture.
Ive know a few young mates, mainly with RWD Nissans that have smashed them up, normally with not owning it for a long time, coz they have no idea what a car does once it starts to get out of control. Hell im still learning, im still pretty young at 22.
Once my car has been of the road for a few months it takes me a good week or two to feel comfortable to push it.
If i had anything more powerful than my 2L ford escort when i got my P's, i recon i would have put it into a tree. You need to learn in something with little power.
People when they get their license need to have the opportunity to learn how a car handles.
It will show how scary a car out of control actually is, and also save people having some stupid accidents in the wet. It doesn't promote hoon culture or make people think they are a drift king, it'll show how real driving a car on the limit is. And how bad of a driver you really are. Young blokes wont think they are invincible.
Instead of charging silly amounts for a computer test, i would have been happier to pay a bit more, and do a skip pan.
But the internet is full of stupid rants like this, they wont listen.

I reckon:
- People are still going to get drunk and write themselves and others off
- Country fatalities would be the same
- School zone fatalities would still be the same (believe it or not an echo or yaris can do up to 100 km/h)
- It may potentially reduce the amount of 18-25 year olds killed..... but if they actually provided proper education and driver training at a younger ages, and enforced power restrictions on P-Platers it would reduce them anyway..... and we may not have these idiots killing themselves and spoiling it for the rest of us.
