Broken Clutch Pushrod

OK, so I broke the clutch pushrod (snapped it in half).
Two questions:
1. What could cause this?
2. Is the pushrod the same as a standard lancer push rod?

G'day.
Hyundai Accent I think is the one. It uses Mitsubishi 4g63 N/A and FWD box. I replaced the push-rod and clutch fork in my rally vr4 with them.

I think the Accent had a Hyundai engine.

The early Sonata came with an NA 4G63 and the Lantra came with an NA 4G61.

Jusy chop a bolt down and round the ends. No biggie

Ended up just getting a new slave for $35 the bore was pretty scored in the old slave
