Hmm I must say that I agree, the seating position is odd compared to a sedan, (i'm 5 7 as well), and it took a bit to get used to, but I don't know about the pedal position being weird. I like how the footwell is wider, In the galant if I wore wide shoes I'd always get my feet tangled up in the pedals. I don't know about ankle position, I'll think about it when I go to uni.. do you have a HSG, ie recaros Dan? When I backed the galant out the other day for paul to pick it up I remember thinking that the pedal position is much less easy to deal with, but I really felt more comfortable with the steering wheel - I agree on that point. In a galant the steering wheel axis effectively points at my neck, in the RVR it points at my head. If I drop the angle of it using the tilt steer it's too low.
I think being taller would make the steering wheel angle better, as then your shoulders are more aligned with the angle it points at you. How do you find the steering wheel angle something wild? It's weird to think about that as it DOES point upwards, more so than any japanese person would be comfortable with...
