Ive heard that VR4,E2 and E3 cams are identical, can anyone confirm this? The E1 was different......?
Also, is there any gain for a turbo motor having 4g63 N/A cams with 256 Duration being installed?

Jamie.

um... all i can think off is... hitting max power/torque at a lower RPM range then the turbo cams... topping out early, although would be good for twisties.. would also depend on where your timing is set at....

The 7-bolt N/A cams in my RVR top out around 5000rpm....

its not really an upgrade at all jamie, if anything a tiny tiny bit on the inlet but less on the exhaust

you also need more detailed cam specs with details like duration @ .050.

go aftermarket ones

I'll have an HKS 272 inlet cam up for sale shortly- for $370, been installed, but never been started

Is one cam worth the upgrade?

I do have an ECU, though no one can apparently tune HKS software! unless im either in sydney or perth!

Yeah apparently F-Con (is that what you have??) tuning software is all in Japanese.

Surely one of the tuners would go to the major cities every now and then for a week of tuning? You could always just ditch it- its only a piggyback right?

This is going for CHEAP- you could get a bridging loom and you're laughing

I heard theryre a good computer.

Yeah i dropped in to APC today, theyre a HKS certified tuner, they say that they dont have the software to tune the older style FCON-S (silver case). The newer one is a gold case..

Bit shit really...i mean, would HKS really do that? try and make their own gear obselete? that sux!

Kelford cams 272's > HKS 272's

there was a guy on nzmmc with an evo7 who got ~20kW more top end, and more everywhere swapping from hks 272s to kelford 272's

Sounds like his tuner got it right finally?

I was talking to Ray from Gizzmo and he said he has had nothing but complaints from Kelford cams

Very strange Dre. I know of several 300kw+ cars running Kelfords. I'm about to put some 264/270's in my bus. Even those are more aggressive than HKS 272's, so I'm not surprised on the gains mentioned above with the 272's.

If you had the option Q: which would you choose and why

out of the 264 and 272 combo's In & Ex
