can anyone help me put a price on my car?

hey guys, was planning on selling my white rs galant soon and was wondering how much i can get for it.

specs are:

wiseco forged pistons.
manley forged rods.
acl engine bearings.
arp head and main studs.
metal head gasket
stock 16g turbo in perfect condition.
3 inch pretty much straight through exhaust from turbo back
extream 6 puk brass button clutch
microtech lt8s. comes with stock loom also
all work has been done just over 2000 km's ago.
15'' advans
im planning on getting the car tuned and then im going to sell it
10 months rego but no roadworthy.

the body isnt in the best condition.

its worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. Have a look at similar examples on carsales (there are afew) and set your price accordingly.

Or (logically) put up a price that you're happy to part with.

How come it only has one black mirror?

If you are REALLY genuinely interested in wanting to know what it is worth, you should really post the km's the car has done and a little more about the car r.e the way it's been rego'd. Facelift VR4's never made it under the 15y.o rule....

Yes its a genuine E38A RS with under 175,000K's.

The specs I can think of:
It has no ABS
Had no interior clock
Has wind up windows
S16g, 510's and ecu to suit
Rs intercooler (These are wider than j-spec)
Rs bonnet
Rs Throttle body (has only one vac port on top)
No power windows
4bolt rear diff
Doors are surprising lighter ( Probably missing a little something)


It has one black mirror because the second black mirror had a chip on it when he bought the car. I replaced it with a white mirror from the A-spec Galant I was wreaking at the time. I figured this would be better than a broken mirror. We have not yet had the time to match them up, lol.


It had Rego when he bought the car and it has been paid again since. Its registered with vicroads and they have all the correct details about the car. So I would say it was registered the same way all cars a registered.

Well IMO he does have a point- everyone knows what their car is worth, especially if they are rare....?? Also why does he need to ask when you know more about his car than he does?? Not trying to suggest anything, just seems a little odd don't you think.....

I did not know he posted this until he called me saying WTF. I guess a newbie wouldn't expect such replies.

I know more about the car because I built it and work on it. He doesn't know much about cars he just drives them and sais i want this, i want that.

IMO he should keep it as it's a great fun car.

seriously mate......it IS a silly question. if this guy is paying the bills for work on the car. he must have some idea as to the cost of the work that was done.... so unless he is seriously into overcapitalizing on a car then he would have an idea of its worth. if he really needed to know....why didn't he ask you?

you know what you paid for the car.. [unless you inherited it] and you know what you would have spent. that should then be enough for you to gauge its worth. why would you then post a question inviting public comment.
