Can Evo 1-3 gearbox and diff be put on an RVR?

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

well i have had one visit to the strip and i managed a 14.7@96, this was in full trim apart from back seats were taken out as i was camping at a car show, unsure of power however it was running a mild tune, car is now stripped out (weighed on public weighbridge at 1360 with 3/4 tank of fuel) and will be having an evo 5 ecu fitted hopefully next week and a damn good remap on the rollers, likely to see about 350-360bhp and i will be happy with anything under 13.5 upon return to the strip

i have no idea about the ratios tbh, there just standard super sports gear box and diff AFAIK N23W 1995 model if that helps

My syncro's are on their way out too. I'm wondering if this is also worth considering if i were to get it all done at once. Where could i find Prices & parts for this and how much would it 'generally' cost to be completed professionally?

Cheers

What's the number on your bell housing?
Labour usually runs to $1500+ at gearbox shops.
I rebuild boxes up here. My pricing is much cheaper!
PM me if you want to know more and who to avoid!

what are your 60 footer times? i was doing 13.8 with just a bigger exhaust. 360hp is alot to ask for with just a tune

60fts were 2.27s strip was v sticky i think as it was being prepped for proper top fuellers, its not just a mild tune mate i used most of my evo 3 stuff on it

This was the spec when taken up the strip

Evo 8 pistons and rods with new rings
Crank was inspected and reground and ACL race bearings ordered to fit
Block and Head skim
ARP conrod bolts
ARP headstuds
Competition 6 paddle clutch and lightweight flywheel
Evo 3 16g turbo (rebuilt)
HKS 264 cams (pulleys wont fit due to cam sensor)
3mm lifters
Air con removed
Nippon headgaskit set
Stainless turbo elbow
Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit
Decat (rear box removed for aftermarket jobby)
Profec B Spec II EBC
Magnecor Leads
Iridium Plugs
560cc injectors

ITG air filter
Walbro 255
Ostrich Emulator
Evo FMIC

now car was bogging during gearchanges and developed blue smoke, also rad hose split so day was cutshort, was boosting to about 1.4bar which me and a friend mapped ourselves with knock CEL light setting on 4 counts so was jus done safely really, fuelling was pretty rich (in the 11s) so i know theres alot more to come out of it

i would like to get ir on a tarmac strip as i think will yield better results, but its slightly quicker than my R33 GTST which has decat, filter and full system on it running 10psi

its now had a 20g turbo built and will be having ostrich removed and an evo5 ecu fitted n mapped hopefully, the turbo builder has the same spec engine minus cams in his evo and his is 360-370bhp so i expect the same power

I find that, aside from a smaller viscous coupling, regular US spec tranny is no different from what we have in DSMs. It might not as strong as EVO tranny, but still strong enough to run 11's.

You do need to upgrade the center diff. But aside from that, stock tranny should work.

My goal is to get into 11's in a 14b and then I can start playing with a real turbo :).
