A while back I decided to clean my windows after I couldn't see crap (glare/film) when the sun shined through when driving through the mountains. After I finished cleaning them, I reliased I had used Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer (grr), and quickly got a sponge with water, and redid the windows with Meguiars No Smear Glass Cleaner with a glass cloth cleaner, but the crap just seemed to make my windows worse. All they do is fog up to the shithouse, especially now that its cold, and I cant see.

What is a good glass cleaner product, that will make windows clean (no streaks!),wont fog and is easy to apply/work?

I've been looking alot at Raix-X. (www.rainx.com)

1. 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner with Rain Repellent (Rain-X WeatherBeater) (Exterior).
2. Glass cleaner wipes with Anti-Fog (Interior).
3. Thinking of getting the Latitude Wiper Blade's.

Anyone use RainX? Is there anything else that will be decent? I'd like to look though a clean, non fogged, window.

Thanks :)

Rain X is good stuff! Have always used it.

Another thing I have been put onto by the detailers at work is to actually polish the windows, as you would the body.

The Rainx stuff is awesome. After you have been using it a while, you start to forget to use your window wipers. The de-fog stuff they have is great aswell. It's also good for the inside of motorbike helmets, ski goggles, sun glasses and anything really that you don't want to fog up!

yeh u can just use an exterior body wax on the windows and u wont have a problem with fogging. Just make sure its a wipe on, let dry then wipe off wax, not one u have to work in otherwise u will have problems with when the lights hits the windscreen on certain angles

i use meths and paper towels.

its gets all the films left on the window off, and as along as the window itself is in good condition i've never had a fogging problem with nothing on it.

but you really need to use elbow grease when cleaning windows.

normally takes me around 10 minutes just to clean the inside front window, i do it about 4-5 times, even when it looks perfect do it again and again. usually sorts me for almost a year.

as long as no one puts their fingers and shit all over it.

A really good tint guy i talked to told me to get windows perfectly clean, he used kitchen oven glass cleaner!

I use commercial glass cleaner for cleaning shit off wine glasses. But I have access to it.

Kitchen oven glass cleaner is AWESOME to get films and marks off, but then you use like windex which is a streak free finish because oven glass cleaner streaks like crazy.

Don't forget to buff the window dry after!

Step 1. For getting oils, grime etc off glass, use either metho, pure turpentine (record cleaner solution), isopropyl alchohol or my favourite, brake clean in a can :D

Step 2. If you go to any glazing hardware supplier, or glass merchant, you should be able to buy commercial glass cleaner in a can (which leaves windex for dead).

Step 3. if the above doesn't give you perfectly clean, grime free glass, then use the following mixture:
1 drop dishwashing detergent (not soap!)
(or Kodak Photoflo if you have it)
1/3 cup 99% Isopropyl alcohol
1 2/3 cup distilled water

This is the mixture I use to clean the lenses in my crt projector and as recommended by most guys in the projection and photgraphic industry.

alright tnxs guys, got the rainx antifog & rainx original today, at $8 each from super cheap auto :) (autobarn = $18 each :|)

ill give it a go tomorrow, was too late to clean/apply the crap on today.

ill try to apply with the newspaper/paper towels
