Hi All,

I have lost (actually never had) the key to my alarm siren, you know the one you use to turn the siren off in the event you need to disconnect the car battery.

Well I need to remove the battery when I pull my gearbox out so is there anyway to stop the siren from ringing when disconnect the battery? Is there like a switch or something that should be hidden somewhere?

Or is the only answer to cut the wires to the siren and join them back up when I am done?

Thanks

Mimmo

Depends what kind of alarm it is. With some alarms, if you cut the wires, the siren has an internal battery backup and will go off anyway. I reckon this would be an opportune time to replace the alarm.

u could keep the + and - terminals connect to a smaller 12v battery, or extend the cord to reach the battery you've removed...
