So I've bought a M35 Stagea - needs an alarm. The factory keys have central locking controls on them, they look like this:

I'm looking for a system that will allow the installer to use the Nissan key to control the alarm, rather than having an aftermarket keyfob. Anyone know of a system that will allow this?

Sounds like it'd only have a factory immobiliser- and he wants the features of an aftermarket unit but run off the OEM remotes......

Correct me if i'm wrong Jase!

mmm... thinking outside the square..... you could have a make-shift trigger for the alarm on/off hooked into the central locking solenoid instead of the key.
ie. wire up a couple of wires from your alarms keyfob (that lives inside the car somewhere) to the central locking actuator. When you the press the lock button on your key, it triggers the actuator to lock the doors and the electrical signal activates the keyfob to turn on the alarm. Any auto electrician should be able to help with that approach.
I was originally thinking of recoding an alarm to the same signal code as your keys, but may be difficult to find one as usually its a key that gets recoded to an alarm.
Why do you want an alarm in Canada for anyway? you're all too busy eating croisants and avoiding conflict to have any spare time to steal a car

Lots of installers do them mate. Just ask for an upgrade alarm. They can add siren/tilt sensor/microwave sensors/auto window up and turbo timer modules with some of them.

Everyone seems to want to put a new system in, just seems like too big of a hassle for them. Any suggestions for an installer Jon?

if your on the goldy i'd wire in and after market unit and do what evo 00x sugested for ya all it'd require is a cople of relays and some sodder.

Thanks mate but I'm back in Adelaide. Really appreciate the offer though.

Rob I was thinking the same thing, makes complete sense.

Apparently the keys are very similar to Navara keys and Viper alarms are compatible, but I think the local places mainly like to work with Cyclops gear..

Yeah defnitely Jase, I've got an Auto Electrician mate than does all my alarms and some of the higher end stereo stuff for me. I'll see if he is keen and what the options are.

EDIT: seems you can't receive PM's. -
Hey Jase, Give Josh a call on 0423 464 130
He is my best mate and is good at what he does. He reckons about $450 fitted and that is incl. the $350 for the module! So a good price.

Anyways, call him and say Jon got you onto him.

Thanks a lot Jon, I will give him a call tomorrow. Great price too!

We use to factory fit mongose alarms to all the new turbo subarus that came into the country (newzealand) because our jap spec cars didnt come with immobilisers. We never had many problems and they used a std key and you couldnt tell it wasnt factory.

Quick update for anyone in SA - would definitely recommend Josh to install an alarm. After meeting him if I ever need any electrical work in my car in the future I'll be heading back to him.
