Hey guys

do any of you have one of these currently? Im looking at getting one as my car gets bird **** and cat prints all over it where it is currently being stored

Obviously theres issues with scratching the paint etc etc but are there any good brands that work better thatn others etc?

cheers

if the car is clean before you put the cover on then 99% of covers wont scratch the paint. i use one from super cheap that is pretty good, but if you want really good then spend the extra money and get a TYVEK cover.

as good as a car cover is you'll be sick of putting it on and off within a week...i say just wash it more often

Dan doesn't drive his car very often. A car cover wouldn't bother him.

I use the mercedes ones. You get them from the dealership. dad got his with his car *shrug*

Man, I got one from either Supercheap or Big-W for about $70. Whichever one it was it wasnt the el cheapo ones, but a little dearer. Its got a soft underside and some special scotchguard crap on the outside which is water resitant and doesnt let dust through, but is still breathable. Its also got side tie downs and clips to hold it down better in the wind and also a spot for your mirrors to sit in I think. It does the job and doesnt cost the earth :)

Is the car going to get wet? Coz most covers arn't water proof and trap the water under there. That's why i recon they are a bit of a pain in the ass unless you get a nice one.

Don't get one of those ones that feel like some fiber or paper martial from supercheap they go hard and crusty when they get wet.
The other cheap nylon ones don't degrade when they are wet but the sun eventually stuffs them and they tear.

Get one of the expensive ones they are much softer. Can also order in some good ones to that are soft underneath.
Gvr40 will probably know the ones.

Try other places to i've seen some nice ones i wouldn't want one of the cheap ones on the car.

milk - i use of the deluxe ones on my car, used to be called genesis ultra then they changed to the new SCA premium and deluxe range, mine is the better one, the beige coloured one. that is pretty good. haven't heard of the tyvek ones going hard and crusty like you say

Those blue ones that feel papery im talking about, another colour as well in the same material. Cant remember they names sorry mate.
Ive had a lot of people coming back to buy another type of one saying they go hard an crusty after they get wet.

My grey one just covers the car in the garage when I could be bothered putting it on lol, It never gets wet so no point going all out $$ for nothing really. If Dan's car is going to live or be covered outside then he's gotta get a really good one.

wont be outside, its in a garage - but the friggen birds can get in and so can a cat, so i just need something to cover it really ... doesnt have to be waterproof

winchester.....maybe ruger...yeah ruger, ruger is good. or there is marlin and of course weatherby.

bugger the car cover........solve the problem at the source:thumbsup:

might be a silly suggestion but cos its inside, why dont u go to spotlight and get some nice/smooth lenghts of material to tie over your car? that way it wont scratch!!!!

Jon

I got mine from autobahn, it was about $140 but its really soft on the paint, which is water prof and breaths, and I also like that it locks together underneath so and has elastic on the front and rear
