So I'm just flicking through ASA at the moment. Trying to figure out what can be done.
I'd like to upgrade my GSR box at some point to Evo double synchros on third and fourth, and JDM GSR double synchros on second. Has anyone ever done this before/what parts need to be changed specifically.

Picture 1 is a GSR box with double second gear synchro parts selected, picture 2 is an Evo 3 box with double synchro third and fourth gear parts selected. Is it possible to just switch out those parts to give you a GSR box with Evo 3rd/4th gears, and double synchros on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th? Or am I dreaming.

Also, I'm no expert on these things, so do you have to replace the "Hub & sleeve" parts? Just checking availabilites, looks like some things are no longer available :/

Unfortunately i don't have one of those. They're not exactly easy to come by ;)

What i do have is a W5M33 NRBE, no history on it, seller was convinced it was an evo box though haha, apparently it shifted alright, but i can't know for sure.
So it's basically a blank slate.

I have a complete brand new Evo 3 gearset that I know longer need, for the right price I'll part with it

No you cant use EVO 2 and 3 double synchro 3rd and 4th gears on a GSR input shaft. There is a size difference in the input shaft itself from memory. I looked at it before but it wasn't possible (even though GSR and EVO 1,2 & 3 share the same intermediate shaft, the input shafts on EVO 1 is different, GSR is different, but the same on EVO 2&3).
Many early GSR's had just the single synchro 2nd gear, but all 1995-1996 GSR's had double synchros. It's easy to swap over to a double synchro GSR 2nd gear.
You might want to see what price RUNUTS is asking for his EVO 3 set.

Bugger, I had assumed because the clutch's were all the same, the input shaft was the same inside the box as it was in the bellhousing :D

So the only "easy" double synchro would be a GSR second gear one. Bugger. Back to Evo parts it is.
