was looking at replacing my roof because of the roof rust.. what do i need??

i assume just the roof skin gets changed ?

and the proton one that you could use would be a Wira one
so that should end up fair bit cheaper than mitsi.

since i put the cage in i dont need the 3 support that run under the roof, only the front and back

I have the 3 middle support brand new if you want them.

I been quoted 1200 for a roof skin though Mitsubishi a mate of mine just repaired his roof the rust normally start from the outside :? in weird i know that what he says but once grinded back wasn't as bad as it looked patched it with fibreglass wasnt much of a hole but best thing either way is to pull the 3 suports out and scrape the old glue off thats what causes the rust the acid in the glue and re attack using stikflaflex on the roof and a couple pop rivits if you want to go that far my roof rust is coming back due to the panel beater not removing the old glue.

I'm pretty sure you can get Taiwanese roof skins (non-genuine,) try All Crash Parts. They're in Clayton, 9548 7109.

Wouldn't recommend fiberglassing and riveting personally. Fusor panel glue + spot welding is the way to go, I know an awesome panel beater who told me once. :wink:

WHen you pull the roof of you will notice that the rails are the main culprits with the roof rust.

If yur going through all that trouble then do the lot, by geniuine and thats its.

I was quoted no more than two grand to replace the roof, painted and drive out done. This was by some place in melbourne that did PASHN8 car. Not sure if he/she is still around?

Been quoted $1700 drive in drive out by a spray shop at rocklea, he said the roof was $608 from mitsubishi

^^^^ that's a pretty damn good price - go for that one!!!! When we did our Mrs coupe we bought the roof skin from Proton and was only $600 + 60 GST. For a sedan contact Proton and get one to suit a Wira :wink:
