So i decided to change over my TPS as I was having issues when I first started the car it seemed to fluctuate the revs from 3k down to 500rpm and when air con was on it would fluctuate when idling at traffic lights.

I changed it over, and now when it started it idled rough then just went from down low to basically rev limiter at which point i turned it off. Tried a different TPS I had and tried adjusting the idle screw and resetting ecu (by unplugging battery for about 30mins).

Since then I tried replacing the old TPS in exact same spot, put the screw back to the same and started her up and same problem (revving from low to max).

Im thinking of going to wrecker and getting a new throttle body with everything on it to try and fix it. Any other ideas?

while you are adjusting the screw (BISS valve) are you grounding the ignition timing adjustment plug

Also when swapping or moving a TPS sensor it must be set at 10.5 with a data logger if you don't have one quite a few members have some floating around

as for the biss screw that should be altered separately after tps has been set on 10.5

opening a can of worms removing a TPS without the equipment/tools to set it up correctly again

Good luck

I am finally starting to realise that, anyone in S.E suburbs (VIC) got a data logger?

get hold of a multimeter and go here http://www.vfaq.com/ and look under intake then TPS Adjustment.I was able to do mine while still on the car.that will get you out of trouble for now but as Lib said always best to have the right gear on hand. That site will also help with your idle surge problem as well.
