I just got off the phone with Mike Reichen at Hot Rod Magazine's Street Car Challenge standing mile competition. At base pressure of 24 psi it went 202mph. After checking the datalog and seeing everything with the track was OK, he put the boost controler back in and set it for "KILL" mode. Mike Reichen's EVO 2 just took back the World's fastest EVO record as well as the World's fastest Mitsubishi record with a heart stopping 237 MPH!!!

This is in a full metal panel, full glass, carpet, all door panels, headliner street class EVO that weighs over 2750 with driver with a off the shelf Borg Warner S400 74mm.

In car video by next week!

Mike would like to thank all of the guys at http://www.douglasautoworks.com/
for all of there hard work. They left no stone unturned in the effort of making sure everything mechanicaly and fabrication wise was correct, and had the car ready in time.

Shearer Fabrications for an ultra efficient header and intercooler that can't be beat!

Class One Engines out of Freeport, IL. Without there excellent machine work and attention to detail the 4g63 wouldn't stay together after a punishing 1,000+ awhp for 1 mile.

Head Dynamics for a excellent port job that can make over 1,000 awhp at only 40 psi.

Arias Pistons for there rock solid pistons that can handle anything Mike throw's at them.

All of his friends that support him and help him achieve what a couple of years ago was considered impossible in a little white 4 door box on wheels!

I love this car because it hasnt been raped of panels etc.
It's a wolf in sheep's clothing :)
Well done guys.

WOW!

That is ***** incredible! He's served it right up to the Supras :D

The boost controller is only turned in about 60%, and he has another seceret squirel turbo waiting to be tested along with aero work. Expect more from this Evo 2 as the year moves on.

I have. I think it's nuts!!!!!!!

Interested on what's going to modified for more speed. Aerodynamics should definately come into play at those speeds (and i dont imagine the wing helps), but how much downforce is needed/how much power's it putting out?

Aero is going to be adjusted as much as possible to increase the efficiency, and yes the wing does slow the car down as it adds alot of drag. I will do some testing to see if the car is stable enough without it to run wingless, if I can I forsee a decent jump in mph. We will also be adressing several other things as well.

As far as power I have never run that much boost on the dyno(yet) but by some calcs I believe it was in the neighborhood of 1200 awhp.

Mike's EVO has put down 1096 awhp on a Dyno Jet, but he has cranked it up a bit from that tune. From estimating injector duty cycle vs. the 1096 awhp dyno pull to the datalog from 237 MPH, it looks like it's making over 1150 awhp!! ;)
