Good day guys,

I'm new here :)...I own a fwd CK4A lancer 1999 with a 4g13 (1.3L). I'm in the process of researching my project for doing a 4G93T (1.8T) swap, the thing is that I've been searching the web for info and I'm really lost. I was thinking of extracting some parts from the Evo (older models), like the front suspension system, intercooler, and transmission....hopefully applicable.

So I'm seeking the knowledge and help of the 4GTuner people.

Thanks & regards.

1st of all welcome Dusty, its good to have more enthusiasts from another country join our forum, hope this forum bring you help and the knowledge you seek :)

When you say older model EVO im suspecting you mean EVO1/2/3...

In which case you cannot use the transmission on the 1999 model vehicle, reason being the EVO1/2/3 engine sits West East and the 99 model engine sits East West, so the transmission will be on the opposite side

The front suspension shouldn't be much of a problem, you just need to use the CK4A top hat

You can use the intercooler but wont be able to use the EVO1/2/3 piping, you will need to get the piping custom made

To put the older model motors/trans into the newer engine bay, you'll need the the front subframe and crossmember from the older model depending what trans you are using. i.e AWD gearbox needs AWD subframe and crossmember.

The steering rack, control arms are all the same.

You need the mounts from the older model including the part of the chassis where the timing side mount bolts to. This will need to be welded into your chassis. For the trans mount, the chassis rail needs four holes drilled and then reinforced.

For power steering, you need to match the pump and lines to the motor.
