clearin defect and rwc questions..

ok im in the process of clearing my defect and gettin a rwc..

but some questions on it before i go ahead with everything..

the defect notice states i have to change 3 things..

1. ride height.. ; i've already done that (thanks dan)
2. bov.. ; can i just block it or do i need a plumback? if i need a plumback any one got some spare 32mm hosing to connect the plumback back to the intake.
3. grip on the clutch pedal.. ; any ideas to fix this? can i just stick something there for now?

now to get a rwc.. what needs to be changed on my car to get one? or should i jsut to some dodgy guy and get one done? i remember reading dino knew a dodgy one when dan got defected last time?

1. do i need to change my rims to stockies? my stockies tyres aren't even road worthy..
2. can i leave my exhaust? it is a bit loud..
3. cooler? pod? catch can? anything else i should be weary about?..

step 1: Get a dodgy roady.
Step 2: Don't drive your car to the vicroads place. Go at a busy time with your paperwork ( PM me for a good vicroads that's busy ). They will clear the defect.

IF they ask to see the car, well you don't have it there because you're being a good boy clearing the defect and not driving it.

step 3: Thank GLI-747 and hook him up with beer.

My dodgy RWC guy just lost his business. LOL.

I have another guy.. but this one is stricter on who he gives them out too

Just drive around dandy, or footscray, dangle a couple of hundred dollars in some bushpig mechanics face for a roady.. and hey presto!

Why get a dodgy RWC when you'll got the easiest of things you need to replace??

Dont you just have to get a RWC and take it in then they'll clear the defect?

Just rock in with a nice ride height, a stock B.O.V and a new pedal rubber and hey presto, you should have a RWC! (i'm assuming your car is RWC condition except for those 3 things the cops got you on)

if you dont pass then just see what needs to be done and if the guy picks the **** out of you then just take it somewhere else, or a place that somone on here might PM you......

To clear an RWC its a full inspection of your car including, ride height, leaks for oil.. tyre conditions, brakes etc.. so its a full inspection. Its not just an inspection to see if you have changed your parts that were black listed. In other words your car has to be up to scratch.

You will need to go to the RWC with 14' rims and you cant have your SAFC/ITC or whatever you have hooked up.. well you can but if they find out they will knock you back.

And they only check if you've done what was on the defect ( read: under 2 things for a minor ). A major is 3+, and it requires a RWC to clear it.

Like i said, go down there ( not in your car ), show them the roady with your defect papers and it;s cleared.

Yes, but VICROADS will not go over his car.

He will go there with a RWC and defect papers, they will clear it.

the idea of a RWC is that it saves them from checking anything!

edit:: Unless the vicroads he goes to is REALLY ANAL about their procedures.. but the ones i've had never bothered.

All the Vic roads i have been to have checked to see if you have removed/cleared all the parts EVEN after an RWC. Maybe i picked the hardcore ones but yer.. i guess its the luck of the draw.

yeah theres 2 things i need to clear..

2. rwc

you could say they are both separate but they overlap..

the defect notice states i only have to change my ride height, bov and put some grip on the pedal.

to get a rwc i must not only do that but also everything else that is needed to get a rwc..

basically if i get a rwc, it means i can clear the defect but not vice versa.

change your pod back to stock
change your BOV back to stock
change your rims back to stock
change your exhaust back to stock

i think thats about it. You should be able to get a RWC anywhere if you do that. hopefully youve got all the stock parts at your disposal.

PS - next time this happens, get it cleared STRAIGHT AWAY, because when the cop finally gets around to processing the defect that he gave you, you can try to already have it cleared, so that it comes up on his screen as CLEARED as soon as he enters it into the database! that would piss me off if was a cop! suckers :lol: thats the best revenge.

on another note, whenever i have been to vicroads after having got a full RWC, they have never checked over the car. You just go straight inside with your paperwork.
