just took my car out for a drive today.. nothing serious just a cruise around the block.. on the way back in my driveway (i have a long driveway) and while i was turning i heard a click, clunk noise on my front left wheel.. i had a look under thought it was a lose plastic cover hitting the tyre so i moved it and secure it and tried again and it was still clunking.. had another look underneath but couldn't see anything that would make that noise.. any ideas?..

cv joint?

is it a click (rapid click while turning?)

if its a clunk, something to do with the control arm? sway bar? could be anything suspension related dude..

get it up on a hoist or jack it up and look at it

its not constant clicking..
just a clunk when i turn my wheel.. i jacked up one side, where i heard the sound but couldnt find anytthing..

Check tie-rod ends and swaybar links for worn rubbers.

Check your left engine mount for a broken rubber, check your rear engine mount too.

Check your gearbox mounts for worn rubbers.

My bet is on tie-rods/control arms and or swaybar links.

anyone got pics of them or know how to look for them on my car? as i have nfi where to look :(

u may have snaped your sway bar i did it a while ago when i turned right it would make a bang, its bloody hard to snap as its made of sum sort of tension metal (mitsi mechanic words) but is possible to do and a pain in the arse to replace, more than likley if its cliking badly wen turning its proberly ur cv joint.

Please oh please oh god type in english. Lest I retype your whole post.

More specifically, swaybars are made out of grade 9 steel which means High TENSILE. Cut this shit with a diamond saw or dream.

But I 100% doubt a CV Joint, as a dead CV won't bang when you turn your car (shifting its weight from side to side), it will click incessantly as you complete your turn past 1/4 lock however.

Does your car bang if you swerve lightly/mildly everytime the car's weight shifts? If the answer to your question is yes, follow your steering connections back and check for the dead rubber or bent pin.

thanks for the help guys..
as embarrasing as this sounds it was just my front left wheel nuts weren't on tight  .. can they get lose themselves as i remember tightening all my wheels before going for a drive..

It's not likely they unscrewed themselves, it's more likely when you were tightening down the bolts, the wheel was slightly crooked on the hub and it felt like the bolts were fully tightened when they weren't.

You hurry too much and forget to tighten them....SHIT happens.....

I had 2 Punctures tonight!@#@#%

it happens dude!

just make sure the stud is okay also, they tend to put stress and end up snapping... other than that, check the wheel holes and just retorque em up..
