So anyway,
The vents in my 94 N23W RVR SSG were fucked and i didnt like the climate control unit. I noticed the later models had a different style climate control unit similar to some evo's and late model magnarses.
A quick troll on trademe.co.nz and i had found a 95 N23W wrecking that had the updated climate control unit and four interior air vents in good condition.
I had a suspision that mitsi wouldnt muck with the wiring much between minor (facelifts etc) upgrades and that the later model climate unit would more than likely just plug in.
$120 dollars i had all the bits at my door.
as you can see below, the major connecting differences between the units is the removal of a seperate two prong lead plug, which i think is for the interior air temp sensor, i will confirm this later and the air inlet for the interior air temp sensor is on the other side of the unit.
So all i did was swap the units over, plug it in, turn the car on and bingo! all works a treat. i tested all the functions, like recirc, temps, econo different air direction etc and yup all seems good.
if you want to do this, you do need the main air vent surround though, as it is a slightly different shape to stock.
Sooooo the RVR copped its first mod. Whats more amazing is that i did a mod that doesnt involve it going faster...
