Recently converted my ce wagon 1.8 to a 4g93p , complete loom etc and running well (apart from cooling problem)

okat back to it. When i put in the m21 coupe Cluster with tacho , install it fits fine screw it down... absolutly nothing going on , no gauges no lights etc nothing

if im not compatable to use it why not?

cheers

yeah the cluster worked in the m21 since i drove it to my house , everything worked just a massive whole in the roof from the rust lol about the size of a football lol

yeah weird ay... will have to keep my eyes out for a gsr / glxi (tacho ) cluster

The proton cluster wont work in a lancer, whole different wiring diagram

From memory if you throw ut in a few lights will come on and other wierd stuff like if you turn ur blinker on the high beam light will turn on or sonething along those lines

Depending in the wagon model, all u need to do is run a gsr or evo cluster for it to work

1. What engine loom are you running the 4G98P with?
2. What dash/interior loom are you using in the wagon?
3. Checkout my DIY on the 4G93P DOHC EFI engine into a GLXi Lancer swap here: http://www.evocoupe.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3014.

I added:
*Mitsubishi and Proton interior looms are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. You cannot use a Proton gauges cluster with your Lancer interior loom and electrics as you'll get all sorts of lights and things working that shouldnt! Best to grab an EVO I-III or Mitsubishi GSR 4G93T Lancer gauges cluster so the tacho can read rpm correctly. The EVO gauges clusters will need the side wings swapped out with your original Lancer cluster to have the correct lights working when you use the handbrake etc; OR, GSR clusters from memory can go straight in as is and the lights correspond? Cant remember entirely but it was pretty easy to sort out.

yeah mate used your guide , went perfectly except still have the fan issue. but yeah works wonders man.

Cheers

oh to the questions

Q1: using the proton m21 engine loom to ecu

Q2: using the standard lancer ce wagon loom inside the care

Q3: and yeah used it as a bible lol

Some wagons disnt have the tacho wire leading to the cluster so even if you did throw a hsr cluster in, it wouldnt work

Depending on the year and the model

Do you have or know anyone close by with a gsr?

I have a gl cluster with white dials. No rpm though. So find out if ur loom can run rpm or not. If it cant, then go a gl cluster and run aftermarket tachometer. Otherwise you will have a constant dead tacho taking up space.
