This is starting to do my head in, i tried to crack the nut loose on the clutch master to adjust it but its just spinning with the rod, I cant push the slave in so its pre loaded and i need to use the car. how do i get that nut loose?

thanks

look at the clutch master rod under the dash carefully. it has two flat sides where you can put like a 6mm (from memory) spanner or shifter on it.

6mm OR long nose pliers.

The nut on the rod is usually not very tight..

I tried pliers kept slipping its a 7mm, not the OEM master. but i turn it and it doesnt seem to be getting any looser.. and it frustrating cos i have not space to move its tighter then a nuns C$%@

If you are struggling down there, undo the cotter pin and pull it out from the fire wall to give you enough space to hold the rod and if you can get somebody inside to do the nut...

How much thread do you have left to adjust anyway (going out towards the dash)?

got it sorted had to pull it back through the firewall to crack the nut like Baz said, not sure if i have it adjusted 100% from all the stuff i've seen on the net it looks right but it still wont let me select gears everynow and then, and it only seems to be when i want to pin it.

Jackstransmissions have one as well, and it shows how to check for dragging clutch.
If your clutch drags you are going to be burning synchros real quick

I have adjusted the clutch according to that video, waiting for this arvo so i can use a mates laptop to change my 2 step upto 7500 to check for dragging, then hopefully it will work right.
Just one small problem it seems no matter how much i bleed the line it still seems to have air through it, Master has been replaced and the slave looks fine. perhaps this could be a cause of it not engaging sometimes?

when your bleeding it move the slave push rod back in its bore and itll get all air out of the system. i had a similar drama with mine and that sorted it out.

depress the clutch, crack the bleeder and then push the rod back. make sure you hold it back and the pedal is depressed until you lock up the bleeder.

sweet will give that a go tommorrow if that doesnt work i will try reverse bleeding and if that doesnt work ill take it to the mechanic and throw money at him.
