Hey guys I'm having problems with my clutch...clutch pedal engages at around three quarters to half way from the floor...but after a bit of driving, say around 60Ks there is no freeplay and clutch engages too high....when this happens the drive feels a bit rough and hard to get in and out of gears..but when car sits overnight it's algood and it all happens again...new heavy duty clutch was put in 1000 K's ago and the fluid has been bled...the slave looks fine so I'm assuming that its the master cylinder...what do you guys think????

Sounds like a leak.

Hydraulics in good condition allows the fluid level to regulate during operation. A leak or incorrect step height can jeopardise this function and take it out on pedal feel.

Also, when you did the clutch install was the flywheel machined to have a .608inch step height?

If not, the return valve (in the master) may have been blocked when it was adjusted to have a pedal with “correct height”.

Does the slave allow you to push the rod back into the bore further than when it is in the released position?

Yep the flywheel was machined but not sure bout the step height..il ask my mate who done it for me, nd yes the slave does allow you to push in further...

Mr Brakes will have them, so does bursons. it's a Standard part number and shared across like 6 cars. From memory they are about 180 dollars for the assembly (might have been 280?)

Haven't bought one for 6 months sorry don't quite remember the price.
