Not sure if this is in the right area so feel free to move.

I have a colt/mirage hatchback that I have fitted the gen2 4G93T lump into, currently run the oem sidemount intercooler but looking at getting a front mount before i get a respray as I will probably fit the bumper around it. Most kits freely available here in the UK are for evos so i was wondering if any of the evo kits will be a straight fit to my standard piping?

I think I am right in saying that all evos came from factory with a front mount so i guess not but maybe there is a pipework kit I can buy also which will make it as direct fit as possible? perhaps if i bought an evo 456 intercooler and the evo 6 pipework it should all match up?

if your front bar can accomodate an evo's fmic and piping it will fit the holes it uses are the same as the side mount for bringing the piping forward

cool thanks, it will mount up fine but i'll have to cut the bumper out abit to get it to sit right but that's no biggie. Just bought an evo 5 front mount so hopefully that will arrive next week! Also treated myself to a nice big radiator and some other goddies! I should really stay off ebay...

Anyway, I think I am just going to get a length of 2.5" stainless steel or aluminium pipe (which is prefered?) and some silicone joiners/bends and make my own kit up

yeah we have a pipe bender in the workshop and a mig so I can weld stainless OK, we don't have any stainless mig wire at the moment but i welded my exhaust flange on without stainless wire and it is still holding no problems it will just not last as long as the rest i guess. For engine bay though i'll use the proper stuff so make it look pretty! My mate is a fabricator though so will probably get him to TIG it together for me in aluminium.

my throttle body has a 2.75" (70mm) connection though it does narrow inside, I assume the evo TB stays 70mm through the throttle flap? I can't remember the turbo exit size but i'll check this afternoon and do some preliminary designs of what bends I'll need and hopefully get away with minimal silicone joiners
