Coil on plug setup

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

hey mate, Got a set of brand new coils and loom from a Mazda 6, they sit in the engine fine, i have pictures, but never looked any further into them. PM me your email and i can send ya photos and stuff of them.

Mate of mine had one lying around he didn't need they pop up every now and then just keep looking mate

Something pretty wrong there, did you catch up with bmgtz? A standard setup will be enough for almost all but the most highly strung engines
i havint heard from him yet ive messaged him with my numba. im running the standard setup and im looking for standards too but im willing to buy cop as i have had no luck at all

^ Have you checked ignitor, leads, coils and plugs..as posted above, sounds like something is wrong and getting COP isn't really the solution.

Interesting read here that says you are good to around 600hp with stock and that you really need cdi as well if you want improvement:

Look here for build your own:

And here as well:

Shut your plug gap to .8 or something to maybe bodge it for a while till you get it sorted. Maybe that will improve it, I assume you have new plugs and checked leads etc.

I agree with this statement you posted above..I have COP on my Evo without CDI and it doesn't make a great deal of difference at all -except for tidying up the bay a little..
