COP kits

Hi

I'm looking at purchasing a COP kit for my 6 bolt. I run a PS1000 and will upgrade to a CDI at the same time. I have seen some on Ebay USA and the JM Fabrications plate but I'm not sure what coils it runs. Does anyone have a COP kit or CDI they recommend? The engine made 380+AWKW on 22psi.

A lot if te cop kits either use ls1 or Toyota coils

I used Chrysler 300e coils. From rock auto in the usa

For CDI I would use either AEM Pencil coils or Chrysler 300c coils.

For non CDI I would use Denso 90919-02440 coils. Unless you are making 600hp+ I wouldn't worry about CDI.

I'm making 410hp atw and my LS2 coils are starting to breakdown spark under boost. My tuner has told me it's time to go CDI, so am looking at the Autronic unit.

I am not talking crank hp. I am talking atw.

I have used them on my own car at 647hp atw and on an evo 8 as high as 745hp atw. They went CDI because the car developed a mis-fire which ended up being a crank sensor (coils were fine).

The attached picture is a kit I made for my car 6-7 years ago.

Are the AEM pencil coils short or long coils?

i have a brand new JMF plate if your interested. Is intended for use with Chrysler 300m coils.

Also have some 4 wire toyota coils with in built ignitors but dont fit the JMF plate.

Can you run a CDI with the 300m coil packs?

Also are the 300m coils the same as the 300c coils?

Not sure what the 300c coils are mate, But the 300m ones are the ones the dsm guys use.

Unsure if they work with CDI but jumping on the dsm sites would be your best option.

dont mean to steal a thread here. but ive got a COP setup on my E3 motor and ive fired possibly 2 ignitiors now.. first time was the ignitor. wired up to just plug in to the factory harness

anyone know why it would do what its doing?

The extra coils are overloading the ignitor. What kind of coils are you using?

that i dont know it was brought off ebay. i could pull them out to check..

just looked for the ebay listing.. same setup add says there 2.7l coils

I imagine that your primary coil resistance will need to be similar to the std ones.
You should check and compare.
