Common problem. Don't let it separate. If it does, you'll end up burning holes through your timing cover and possibly damaging your timing belt.
To do the job you will need to jack the front end up, pull off the left front wheel, pull off the plastic cover in the wheel well, loosen your alternator, air con ps belts, undo the 4 bolts holding the crank pulley on. If you don't have a rattle gun, it could be tricky to break the bolt tension as the crank might spin with it. You could put it in gear and hope that the weight of the car holds the crank in position. Just make sure your car has the hand brake on and is chocked. Don't let your car fall off the jack stands. Once the pulley is off, remove and replace. put everything else back together. Replace any belts that looks old. Check your air con tensioner pulley and if worn, replace. Good time to replace your water pump if you need to. Other things you could do while in there are oil filter housing gasket if leaking, timing belt if due and the list goes on.
Not a difficult job, just a dirty and time consuming one.
Good idea to clean the timing cover marks and colour with white texta. Also mark the new pulley mark with white texta too. It will help you read your timing marks when checking.
