Hi every one not sure this is a technical question but finding an answer will be.
I am try ing to find out the total production run of the hyper sport gear r. my hsg-r was not registered untill 1998 so must have been one of the last to be produced dose any one have any ideas i dont think there can be more than a dozen or so in the uk but thats another figure that i dont know for sure. thanks Steve.

you could try contacting mitsubishi japan direct they usually have some kind of historical department

otherwise no idea but UK has this site which might give you an idea how rare you are today

http://howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=RVR

Thank you for the information i may try contacting mitsubishi direct and see what responce i get from them as for the uk it would apear there is only seventeen and three of those are currently off the road so it is indeed a rare beest in the uk many thanks steve

it would apear i was a little premature with those figures only two registered in 97 and one in 98 so a max with the posability of being rvr hsg-r is three and i bet all are black seems that all the white ones stayed with you guys and gals in Australia.

Steve, we have a white HSG-R that is on UK plates but not in the UK and therefore not showing on the records. I know at least one other 97 registered white car in the UK too. I believe ours has been the only one in mainland Europe for the last 20 months though.
From what you say I guess yours is black, that means our car and the other white one are the only other two. Where did you get your figures?

Hi Beastlee yes mine is black the figures where obtained from the link further up this page this will give total registered with dvla then check by year and it should come up as a total of three registered between 97-98 mine is the one regitered in 98. i do know of another hsg but it is the z not the r no turbo that one resides on the scotish borders thats mine the one in scotland and the one you know of thats the three on record with the dvla. I will try and post some pics of mine when i manage to figure out how to do it

Hey Steve,
I recently bought myself a white RVR Hyper Sports Gear R.
It's first registered February 97. And is in the Netherlands since 2004/2005 it took the previous owner a while to get it registered so the Dutch registration says 2006.
It was believed by the previous owner that this was the only one of the west-European main land.
But if you guys say there's another one I believe that too.
I know there are a couple of RVR HSGR in the UK.
I would love to meet a fellow RVR HSGR driver.

Super Top, we live just outside Roermond, not too far away from you for a meeting. This is probably a good thing knowing the fuel economy of an RVR HSGR!
I noticed your RVR is in storage, any reason? Gutted we don't have the only one in Mainland Europe but if yours is in storage then at least we could claim the only one on the mainland that's in use LOL

any one out there if you ever get to the uk send me a pm and i would be more than happy to meet up. the chances are are i will never see another uk registered hsgr on the road never mind meet the owner. steve.

@ Beastlee
That's great! I didn't know there's another RVR HSGR so close. I live real close to Arnhem (Arnheim in german). The previous owner told me he did about 8k's to 1 litre. But I didn't buy it for the fuel economy for sure.
The most important reason why it's in storage is, because I get kicked out of the house by my parents if they find out I bought another car. I'm getting a place of my own real soon so hopefully it won't be in storage for too long.
The other reasons are that there's some work I have to do to it first. The exhaust leaks at a couple of places, sometimes a knock in the right-front suspension, I want to change the oil and filter. And I want to change the cam- and balancing shaft belt, just to be sure.
Until a month ago the previous owner was still driving it.
My RVR is since 2004/2005 in the Netherlands but got it's dutch registration in 2006.

@ Steve
When I'm going to the UK with the RVR I'll sure let you know!
I've been in the UK with my C77A Lancer 4WD in 2011.

@Steve B - We visit once a year and normally go Hull-Liverpool-Norfolk so would theoretically pass you at some point. We don't bring the RVR as it would use about 4 tanks, we did it the first year and it was a rather expensive visit, With the increase in fuel proces I reckon we could go away for an extra two weeks if we covered the fuel used! Would still be good to meet up if we're over.

@Super Top - LOL, good reason to keep it out of sight :)
We actually need to do some of the same jobs, we already have a stainless steel exhaust fitted so that is OK. The suspension makes the same knock and we need to oil and filter. We also need to fix a few other things and I'm trying to get some 6-pot front brakes fitted. Will be good to meet up some time, it's only 110km between us so not a long journey either way, or to the middle.

I placed some pictures of the RVR and my other Mitsubishi's in my introduction topic.
My RVR HSGR is a manual. What are your's? Manual or auto?
It still is completely stock except for the Evo7 wheels. I also have the stock alloy's with snow tires on them.
It still has the 180 km/h limiter on it. Are your cars still limited at 180?
Do you have to change the oil cooler if you take the limiter off? Because the stock one looks kinda odd, and doesn't sit in front like the radiator and intercooler. But is at the side of the block.
At least that's what I can see in the Mitsubishi ASA parts catalogue on the computer.

Stainless steel exhaust system is on my want to buy list. I probably also need one for my C77A Lancer because various parts of the exhaust system of the Lancer 4WD are not available anymore.
But I have to save money for it first.
