searched hi and low to find coil overs to suit the back of my car, after modding a set of VR4 rears and only having less then 30mm of movement.... i got sick of the stiffness...

so found some dead JIC's for insanely cheap give away price and decided to make my own.....

needed to take the inserts out and find a close replacement... a mate parts shop had a few old shocks lying around, and funny enough one was very close but still slightly bigger.... but for the price i couldnt refuse... Gabriel performance gas struts made in the USA....

next had to cut up the outer shell to the size i required for my car, and machining the internal walls to fit the 2mm larger shocks......

then welding up the shell...

top work jay! how are the strut inserts held in the housing? press fit?

there squeezed in by the massive bolt on the top with rubber inserts.... so they are replaceable ....

fronts are on max low, rears have 19mm still to go lower...
