Hey guys,

I have been putting off this post for a week now, but the time has come and I can no longer hold off.

I won't go into too much detail, but the gist of it is I lost my job a month back and basically have not been able to find another one, so on top of the mortgage, bills, living expenses and most likely in the midst of a separation, the RVR decided to skip a tooth on the driveway (well that is my assumption) two weeks ago, the irony being I had just finished typing out a carsales/gumtree/forum/eBay ad for it the night before.

So with the rego coming up in a month I honestly I can't afford it.

The car didn't fire that morning I cold started it on the driveway, so I am hoping the damage is minimal. So the point of this post is to see if I can generate some interest in parts from it so I can decide whether to part it out or not as I can barely afford to run my house let alone dumping more money into this car.

Details of the car as follows:

17xxxxkm's
td05 16g
3" turbo back with divorce pipe for the wastegate
Head rebuilt with 8 new valves, 8 new brass guides, valve stem seals, 3mm hole lifters... I will have to check for damage.
Exedy HD clutch with 433km's on it
ARP head studs
Cometic MLS head gasket
New CAS
Evo 8 enkei rims x5

The car had only travelled 433km's since rebuilding the head, timing belt and etc...

Things I will be keeping are the GFB GeForce II, Mtx-l and the front seats if it gets parted out.

If anyone is interested in any parts let me know so I can decide whether to wreck it or not, every part/panel is available and photos can be taken upon request.

If a moderator believes this should be in the for sale section please feel free to move it.

Also I have other parts available for the RVR such as an EVO 6 brake master cylinder needed for the brembo upgrade as well as a full set EVO X bilsteins, the front set has been slightly modified to work with the RVR top hat and the rear require drilling or cutting off the bottom mount and welding the RVR mount back on.

It's really crappy having a string of messed up shit happen all at once, I wish there was some insightful advice to bestow but I don't think it exists.

I've been in a similar circumstance before, I know how it felt for me and it wasn't pleasant, I could only imagine how it feels for you.

Everything does eventually work out more or less, but sometimes there's no choice but to take it on the chin and keep chewing.

Hey man, sorry to hear about your job. Were you employed by Forgacs? If so in what trade?
What are the symptoms that you think its the valves? One tooth out wont make the valves hit the pistons in most cases.

Thanks guys, to those who pm'd me I will get back to you shortly.

EVO-00X

Nah mate, I didn't work at forgacs.

As for the head, I said "a tooth" but it was probably more than that to be honest. After it happened, I checked the that it was getting fuel (which it was) and then I turned it over with a ratchet and it felt as though there was some interference. I really hope the head is all good.

Connor, it wouldn't hurt to take the top cam belt cover off, line the crank at TDC and just double check.
I hope for you it is something simple.

Poor bastard, if you were over near gympie I could get you a job within a week. I hope all works out, always does mate.
Cross fingers for an easy solution for you. Best if luck.

Hey guys,

I just got back from QLD, I did what every man does when he is in a pickle, I tucked tail and headed to my Mum.

So to those of you that PM'd me I am replying to them ASAP.

I will be starting a proper for sale thread which should be up in the next hour or so.

Again, I apologise for the delays.
