hey guys i picked up a dash cluster from an injected lancer today and atm im trying to work out how to wire it up to the loom coz its not working so i assume even tho the plugs between the 2 dashes are the same its lacking a wire to make the the tacho work.

according to the pinouts in the haynes repair manual i have theres ment to be a white wire coming from the dash loom that goes to a white wire to the dizzy. i jus had a look at my dizzy and its got a blue wire and a black wit white stripe wire. any help is much apreciated.

oh and jus so u guys kno the dash is from a cc station wagon, i think it had a 4g93 in it?? it didnt have an engine in it when i got to it tho lol and my lancer is the carbie 4g15 engine

you will need to find where the carby motor gets the tach signal from and use that for the fuel injected, or just get a carby cluster

You wont be able to get the EFI cluster to work with your carby... theres way too much to stuff around with

4g15 carboys distributed doesn't send out a signal. Back in the day spent ages trying to figure it out. But no luck. I will have a 2L motor for sale in a month or so that will run a taco for u. It's pretty much pull out ur motor. Put gear box on the 2L drop it in and electricals are set up to plug with the carby looms :p oh fuel pump will be needed too. But that's slot of work to get a taco workin

there has to be a way to grab the signal from some where. while i was digging thro saulsbury wreakers i had a look at a ca lancer (mainly to pinch the altinator belt) and it had a tacho in it unless some one has done wat i did and put an injected dash into the carbie model. but i was thinkin if its stock it has to work :S

gianni when u say 2ltr are we talking 4g63?? i thought about doing somthing like that but if im gonna swap engines its gotta be boosted. and with that comes all the messing around with wireing looms. it would be good to jus have something that jus bolts in

but hey thats half the reason i joined this forum lol (to learn some more about wat can be done to these lancers) so far this car that i baught as a run around car is turning into somthing i didnt intend :p

lol im finding that out atm lol. i was never interested in modding this lancer till i found this forum. ive been really keen on another turbo nissan.. but there seems to be a lot u can do with lancers i stumbled on the body kit for mine and started cleaning it up from there

I think it's the particular dizzy that doesn't send a signal on the 4g15.

It's actually not a hard conversion. First time I did it I wish I had the info I have now. It would have made wiring slot easier.

To drop 4g63t in a cc coupe
Pull out old motor
Drop and bolt in 4g63. If Evo it'll be straight fit. If vr4 u need to buy an engine mount off meek. It's a 2 piece mount.
Put bigger radiator in. Run intercooler and piping off an Evo.
Run Evo oil cooler
Put a fuel pump in fuel tank.
Change throttle cable if it didn't come with motor.

For setting up electrical if it's an Evo it's easy
Get Glxi interior loom, engine bay loom and fuel tank loom. Replace the gl looms with the above
Evo engine loom will plug into the Glxi interior loom and give u your warning lights and tacho.

If that sounds like too much work it isn't really. Plus u will learn ALOT about where everything is on ur car.

The Na conversion is easier as in u don't need to do cooler and u can run ur power and fuel pump right to the ecu. But changing all ur looms is still a better option.

I've probs forgotten something. :p

that dont sound to bad. the last engine conversion i did was a ca18de to det in an n13 nissan exa all i did was swap the engine loom and the engine lol that sort of coversion tho dosnt sound like a weekend thing :p especally to go from a carbie engine to injected. worth looking into tho

Yes you can get a signal but to wire it up to work with the cluster is the problem

Below is a pics that may help, thats thats all i know

kk i got ya ill have a tinker with it later on. i figured some one has to have hooked a monster tacho up to one of these lancers before so i figured a stock tacho should be easy lol

was this the model with the built in ignition coil and ignitor pack in the distributor?

or does it have a ignition coil mounted somewhere?
