OK ... So have tried to find a thread on it, but can't seem to locate one... But I believe this has been talked about before... :blink:

So if anyone can find it, please link it here so it is easily referenced...

Anywho ... I have been thinking for some time now of changing over the dash in the CC ... It is kind of plain, and just generally giving me the shits (not to mention needs to be replaced as it is not in top condition)... So, I have a couple of options .. FTO dash (about the same size) or a CE dash ..

I have a 3 gauge pod which is for the CE dash, so I am thinking of puttin this on, and installing the whole dash .. But I want to see if anyone has tried and given up, before I go pulling apart my pride and joy to try and do this ...

Also if anyone has a spare dash that I can play with to make sure I can get it all to fit...

I can get my hands on a free FTO dash, and I must admit, when driving the FTO I really love the placement of everything on the dash and think it would be a good fit...

So, any advice/help/pictures would be greatly appreciated...
 
FTO dash will not fit :)

PM Mikey (NERVIS) he has an FTO dash than he tried fittin in his old cc coupe, he might still have it
 
i remember years ago there was a GSR/EVO with CE evo interior the guys name was ryan he lived on the central coast he got rid of it 4-5years ago tho

this will be interesting to see if any good replies come of this coz iv though about the CE evo conversion too
 
It should all bolt in as it is the same tub.

Technically you should also be able to use a Volvo V40 dash as it is the same tub as well.

So does that mean u can bolt the Volvo front end on a lancer and vice versa lol

And yeh Frank many people know him as Ryan from Just JDM, he used to have an EVO3 powered GSR with MACH3 plates

Hmm... Will watch for some reply's and see how we go.. Then start sourcing Evo interior.. I am guessing the whole centre console has to be used too...???
 
you could duck up the hill to Gymea and take measurements of mine if you like, if that would help
 
sick! rock it look to see if the CE climate control boxes will bolt up to the CC and stuff,also what to do with the looms :)
 
From memory the centre dash supports are different, but that shouldn't bother you if you score the whole lot to throw in.

You may have to swap out door cards so they line up with the new profile ends of the dash, also A pillar garnish.

We looked at doing a Evo7 motor in a CC a year ago for a client and it also wasnt that hard we Ended up useing a CE shell seen here and utilising the CE transversed mounts

CE interior should be easy enough just grab the lot and link to CC's frt half looms will be the tricky bit.

Great idea you could be the start of a whole new line of bolt on mods for CC's :thumbsup: :drool:

But only problem will be hooking up all the vents and A/C yeah ...

Cause the Evo is going to be Electronic, so you would not be able to use the A/C control unit without trying to convert to climate control ... Cause I don't think the normal CC unit would fit in there yeah?? Which would then mean the heater box needs to be changed, as it will need to have the motors to operate the vents...

I may have to take you up on that offer...

I think this weekend will all be about getting the FTO back to normal, then I will start to dedicate some time to this... I am thinking that it may be easier to use a CE Aus Delivered dash, as it will have the vacuum A/C vents ...
 
I wonder if you can use a Evo IV front cut cabin side of fire wall and CC engine bay to do the swap?:w00t:
 
Now that would be a task ...

I have seen an Evo IV sitting at a wrecking place for ages... It is a place where I go to pick up Silvia parts as well ... So not sure what hours of operation he has over new years so have sent him an email ... Worse case is I will make contact after the 11th and see if he wants to sell the dash ... And surroundings...

So will see... I guess that I should be able to plug in the CE air con unit if I end up finding it ... Just depends on what bargain I get first...

I just know I am not good enough to try and do a whole a/c conversion, and am running out of cash fast as I am meant to be saving up for a wedding next year ... And the Mrs still doesn't know that I bought an R32 GTS-T skyline a while ago ... Oooops...
