Descsions....To refine or trade-up?????

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Watched a few of the Jason Kent vids...All i can say is faaaarrrkkk, man got balls.
Also seen a few vids of it at the EVOvsWRX comp. His style is quite WRC with no issue of worrying about how long tyres last.

where is that vid that Clutz put up ????

evo 3 RS VS Evo 5 RS vs Evo 7 RS

it shows you whats quick , and what handles
I done a bit of searching and couldnt find a topic/post on this. And searched youtube also. Would be interesting to see.

for outright rawness you cant go past a properly set up 1-3, with good front and rear lsds and some brakes they are pretty competitive.
WHat LSD's to you recomend? Cusco 1 way front/1.5way rear/65-35 centre?

as a start 1.5 rear and ad s bare minimum a very good viscous front but ideally a mech front also.
I have a 1 way front mechanical.
The stock rear diffs are very good if set up correctly

I havent had the pleasure a a cusco centre though.

Hmm. Interesting as I looked at this same thing..

If you want to drive your car at all during the day as a commuter, forget Cusco RS 1.5 LSD's. They are a royal nightmare unless you are @ 100% on a great bit of road/track.. Mine get all 4 chirping turning into the driveway, slow corners are just painful.. CLunk clink BANG clunk BANG. Fark I love them..

I used to drive a 600hp F6 Ute at events and it just wasn't fun.. Sure, power was great and it handled fine - but the thought of smacking a tree aint fantastic. I just couldn't enjoy myself, hence the 3.

If you want to win any events, forget it in a 3, 2 or 1 as there is simply not enough grip available without going wide arch + 5 stud: Although you will beat the driver more than you beat the car.

My 3 is more car than my ability will outgrow for a while and when the time comes that the car is holding me back I may get a newer example.. For now I love the little (^&*kn harsh *^$## too much to part with it. It also puts a massive grin on my noggin everytime I'm sideways through second gear in the wet :) hang on, even in the dry!

FYI, Jason has spent upwards of $60k prepping his 3RS (magnificent car mind you). It hit a culvert and is now toast. He hails from a rally background and will be very quick in his 'new' Evo V which he is currently prepping.

You will be amazed at how much you will need to spend on any car, not just an older one..

Go the Evo 2, break it and then upgrade..
