it's really really hard to remove a gearbox (or wrench on anything for that matter) with a nearly broken thumb?

it's going funky shades of purple and green but isnt' swelling yet.

wonder how it'll be in the morning. Right hand and i'm right handed too :/

was 4x4ing. went for teh steering wheel while navigating through tree's and ruts and instead of grabbing the steering wheel I hit it squarely with my thumb and bent it right back over.

The funky colours have gone, but it hurts like an absolute whore right now :/

Oh well, time to work on teh vr4.

you would have sprained it- I sprained my thumb so bad one time that I couldnt stand up without almost passing out from so much pain. It swelled up so bad and the doctor couldnt tell if I had broken it or not, so it went into a cast for a week just incase

not reccomended, at all.

and yeah, sprained. No swelling tho.

Copped the same deal whipping the GSR through a 180 degree handbrake in the wet one night..a sprained thumb really fuking hurt...for weeks too.

Guess thats why the driving instructors never let you put your hand inside a wheel...imagine hitting a guuter at 80 k with your hand inside the steering wheel...thumbs inside the wheel.

Here's one to laugh at: When I got my first car about 15 years ago I bought some new brake pads and rushed home, jacked the car up and about to change the brake pads. I grabbed onto the drivers side rotor with my hands for better access to the caliper bolts and as soon as I made contact I heard the hiss of my skin melting on the hot rotor. I ended up with 2 large swollen welts 1/4 size of my palms about 10mm high for a couple of weeks  I couldnt do fuk all so I feel ya pain mate

Oh FUKN ouch

I had the inside of my arm stick to mine.... i forget what i was doing at the time but i hurt like hell

Dave and i were tuning and doing a few bits and bobs to the car... was head up under the dash and due to lack of work light I had a touch lamp next to me (without the glass thingo on top to provide better light) and lent out the car to grab a tool and put my arm straight on it. Still have a perfectly round dark spot on my arm that i don't think will ever go away.

mmkay now this is getting a little too personal lol

i've just done the skinned knuckle thing.. about 40 times

Try playing rugby boys almost guaranteed to bend a thumb or 2 during the season.

Copped a hockey ball in the knee and split my knee cap in half... 5yrs and two knee operations later it still gives me grief... think rubgy would have been safer :p

I ripped the tendon (broke it into 2 bits) between my thumb and the next finger, but it didn't even hurt. Woke up and said, why am i in hospital, why cant i walk, and my hand feels funny :?
