hey guys,
I just have a quick question about clutches....

I'm looking to put a new clutch in my CC gsr, the current one feels fairly worn and i'm looking to put a bit more power through it also.
I have checked part numbers and xtreme say that vr4 and evo 1-3 use the same kit, but the 4g93 is different.
excedy part numbers list them as all the same.

So, can anyone confirm which is the case?

I have a brand new xtreme clutch kit to suit a vr4 sitting here, and saving myself $500 on another clutch kit would be nice

cheers
josh :D

Well the flywheel is different. But the clutch sits in the the gearbox side and all the bell housings are the sane size. Check the dimensions of the flywheel. If the are the same circumference/diameter as the Evo/vr4 then I can't see why the clutch won't mount up. I ran a 1.6L clutch on a 2L flywheel because they are the same diameter.

Flywheel on awd is the same the 93 has 7 bolt holes the same as evo, but the dowel hole is at a different radius.
As far as I know the vr4 is the same flywheel also but 6 bolt instead of 7.
My pressure plate in my 93t gsr ute has vr4 hd in paint pen written on it

Clutches are interchangeable between the three provided the flywheel is of standard fitment (ie; a standard flywheel, or aftermarket item designed to take standard clutch). I'll be using the Jim Berry clutch I had on my 4G93T on my soon to be built 6 Bolt 4G63T. Have used Evo III clutches on 93Ts in the past too.

GSR, EVO, VR4 AWD's can all use the same clutch kits. Its just the flywheels that are different between them but it doesnt matter as long as you're using the AWD GSR/EVO/VR4 W5M33 gearbox.
That company must have confused the 4G93 with the 1.8 SOHC EFI FWD engine, instead of the 1.8 AWD 4G93T DOHC engine.
Use what you have and save yourself some $$$ ;)

thanks guys, much appreciated!

now, who wants to sell me a standard flywheel haha? :p
