If your like me and have moved from an eastern state to Perth and have been involved in performance modifying and street/ drag racing in both states for quite a number of years you will have noticed that Perth street scene is very much V8 dominant. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, hey theres nothing better than having a turbocharged 4 cylinder that beats 6.2 ltrs for a "street car". But compared to sunny BrisVegas, Perth does not have a large Turbo 4 cylinder following.

Its great to see that Perth has its own street car magazine and historical copies have had a BALLISTIC TOP TEN section where you can send in your time slip from the drags and you will get your details published as a "top ten" quickest list in perth for your particular class, ie Blown 4 cylinder, Blown 6 cylinder etc...ect...

This particular magazine only comes out 4 times per year and I have tried my hardest to get my time-slip published for THE LAST 12 MONTHS, but obviously to no avail.. The latest issue came out today and it appears that they have scrapped this item from the publishment all together.. no longer can anyone get any gratitude or recognition for the hard work and passion they put into the performance of their own vehicle.

Needless to say I am disappointed and will not be supporting or purchasing this magazine in the future.

I urge as many of you to write and or complain to this particular magazine in the aid of having this "Perth only - Ballistic Top Ten" section returned to the magazine, encouraging NON- V8 lovers to have their moment in the spotlight and publicly supported.

Post that on antilag.

Welcome to boganvile. You must understand that magazine isn't targeted to the same readership as zoom or hpi?

Yeah, I will have to join up first...

I know... ive been here 3.5yrs ....

Try entering motovation with a hipo four, the amount of ridicule we received was/is huge.

Just comes to a grin and bear it, laugh it off then make them look stupid. Got to remember most of Perth is full of trevs and shazzas that only just manage to write semi ledgible English, but yet pickup un skilled labor jobs in the mines making 110k+ per year.

 yeah its a shame, next time I go to the drags I'm going to get them to put me in with the V8 boys, hehe...11.85 and dropping :D

Trevor is a nice guy, opening up his mag to the 4's more as they become more prominent.. Remember though, V8 guys are the ones who still buy magazines, as the 4 & 6cyl scene is more tech savvy and will jump on forums etc..

Regarding the drags, I've only ever been put with a V8 once (it was a tank of a Chrysler thing)

The guy actually complained that "you've put me in against that Jap 4 banger" to which the motorplex dude said "yep, and he's gonna blow you off the track"

to which I did..

I too have moved here from the eastern states (Sydney). Its a shame, they recon WA has the best facilities in Australia, but it just doesnt have the talent to go with it. I remember when i first went to the drags here only to have been disgusted at the amount of V8s, i thought it must be v8 week  gave it another go the week after and since then have only been once. <_<

ill be up for that.trying to sorce vr4rs diff and gearbox from the states and a set of 280s.if the drag night is in about 6 weeks ill be there

hahahahh sorry dude,

was almost like leading lambs to the slaughter. but i did know the editor was on that forum which meant you would atleast get "one" proper reply.

Hi Mate,

My name is Jordan Leist and I am the features editor for Perth Street Car Magazine.

I would like to let you know that, like 280ZX Racer said, the gentleman that is in charge of the Ballistic Top Ten is no longer in WA nor onboard with the magazine any more.

This was actually noted in the front of the magazine and it was pointed out that the section will be returning for the next issue once we can collect the required data and an author for this section.

Seeing as I have introduced myself to you now can you please do the same for me:

NAME
VEHICLE
ENGINE
ET & MPH
and link a pic to the post so we all know what car it is.

I will then do my upmost to have your car and your ET (with a copy of the time slip) printed in the next issue of the magazine.

Oh, and btw, no need to complain, if it wasn't for me there wouldn't even be fours, rotaries or imports etc ect in the magazine. Ask anyone that.

I look forward to seeing your details and a photo of the car."}

like I said I was disappointed... to forget to be put it in 4 times even after speaking to "him" personally more than once, surely the people running that article werent "moving on" for a whole 12 months...
needless to say, I doubt I will try again.. these things happen..

to4garrett... its cool, i can handle the flak

Im in for a 4G night... maybe we will get our own lane

Also keen on a 4g night. 14b powah =D

Russ (fulltilt on gvr4.org) used to try and get one happening every year. Community's had a few fallouts and move-on's since then.

Lets do it! Have yet to put my old girl down the strip =P

Moved here 3 months ago from Melbourne -

Yes, V8's and expensive beer seem to be rampant.

I have noticed though around Willetton where I live there are heaps of evos and rexys....
