I'm thinkin about putting some front camber bolts on my magna, I've heard the threads on the whiteline ones are poor quality. So i plan to head to Bunnings or similar to find some bolts and washers, has anyone made their own?

If so, any tips on which bolts to get?
I've found some H&R camber bolts, but unsure of their quality.

Any info appreciated.

U cant buy camber bolts from bunnings lol, they have an elongated section that fits inside the strut and knuckles

dude, thanks for the info, but i know what camber bolts are. They can also just be thinner eccentric bolts, which i'm sure if u looked hard enough could be found off the shelf. I agree the lobes on the bolts are the better ones and probably provide more adjustment. The pics you provided are whiteline which i know are poor quality.

Im pretty sure those bolts are grade 10. We have fj sweetmans for high grade bolts. Nothing at bunnings is any better than grade 4.6

A magazine from the states I read ages ago said to slot the strut holes to gain adjustment. It was a usa mag and its not something I would do. They said that the bolt would hold the adjusted setting and they were doing one lap of America rally with it.

If you really want a smaller bolt I would be looking at a wrecking yard. I think wrx ones are thinner.

I slotted mine because with 18s the tyre was wearing on the base of the spring seat, they've been like that for 2+ years and I haven't had a problem with it moving or anything, it is only street driven but the roads are shit up here, have hit a few potholes and they haven't slipped back, I just used a long breaker bar to get the bolts nice and right :)

Interesting, yeh i've heard of slotting the holes but haven't really been a fan of the idea...

Jack which do you think are grade 10 the H&R or whitelines?

Grade 10 means twice as strong as grade 4.6 (bunnings bolts)
To me it also means dont make anything smaller, thinner, weaker in that area. Someone has thought about it pretty closely and deemed the grade 10 bolts as required.
