I am not really a fan of chrome wheels but saw a set I liked on the net on special from A PLACE IN GRANVILLE Sydney and thought I'd enquire about them. After several email exchanges the guy advised that they were brand new, not spray chrome but actual plated chrome, lifetime structural warranty, 2 yr chrome warranty, and he only has one set left which were on display. I planned to go and buy them yesterday so I took the $$ out of the bank and drove the 2 hours to Sydney with my 5 yr old son.

When I got there the guy acknowledged who I was and started calling me Troy. I said 'my name's Rob'... and then he said to go and have a look at the wheels which were the only set like them left on display and he'll be with me in a second because he was talking to some of his friends. I had a look at the 2 wheels on display where he had pointed at and they had a few pits/grit in the surface but not much. While waiting I walked around the shop and found the other matching 2 wheels for the set higher up on display in a corner. I took them down for inspection. They were freakin scratched and marked, the chrome surface had a lot of grit/pits surface in them (they'd need a warranty claim on them as they were  ), the wheels had glue residue from having tyres on them before and a couple of them still had the lead weights stuck on the inside of the rim for when you get your wheel balanced!! Obviously these were not new but 2nd hand and stuck back on display and were going to be sold as new to someone unsuspecting!!! Let's face it, if they put the tyres on and fit them to your car you're not going to notice for several weeks/months til you take the wheels back off for whatever reason i.e. brakes, rotation now are you?

I waited 20 minutes and the dude still didnt come see me so I walked right over to the desk and stood next to him but he kept chatting away to his friends and said 'I'll be with you in a minute Troy...' He walked away from the desk and out of sight for probably 10 minutes when I thought 'fuk it'... these guys dont deserve my business so I didnt want to waste another minute hanging around just to tell him his customer service sucks, he screwed me around and get into an argument (not in front of my little boy) so we just hopped back into our car and drove the 2 hours back home - what a waste of a freakin nice Saturday and fuel

When I got back home the shop had closed so I gave a message to let him know how I felt. Plus now hundreds of people know what shop I went to!!! :D

Anyone else have any dodgey krunt stories? please share :D

honestly i think this topic should be put into off topics and looked at often by moderates because things that can be said about shops may be seem as inflamatory and the user who posted it may find that they can be sued. however i do believe everyone is entitled to speak their stories i think you should write what you want and clearly preview it before you post it..

sorry didnt mean for it to come across as me having a go at you!!
just wanted to make it clear that you can post things but if you go too overboard you can be sued by the relevant parties!

Yeah that's cool, I understand completely. Can I mention they had the name of a bird in their business name?

Haha I bet that guy feels like a retard though, and if he wasn't the manager and the manager hears the message he will get his assk kicked.

i dont get it?

ppl can say sht about ppl who are selling their cars/parts/merchandise and that the car is shyte and not to buy it etc etc, but ppl cant say anythign about workshops/businesses?

thats a bit fkd up in my opinion.

double standards

It's also bullshit.

What's said on a forum isn't admissible as evidence in a court of law.

You can sue and waste your cash on lawyers, because you have no case.

Flame away bitches.

So why is their business' "legitimacy" so protected if it holds no credibility in regards to legalities?

And why are these bastards so valiantly protected for continuously practising dodgy as fuck trading practises?

I hate all fuckers in the car industry. Always looking to rip people off...well thats what it seems like here.

Burn em all i say.
