Door Trims - speakers v no speakers

HI guys,

Just trying to get some info on the door trims on the CC's..

My 95 GSR doesn't have holes for the speakers in the front door trims, though they have the mould for them so to speak.

On Dion's EVO2 it has the cut outs, and grills for speakers.

Can anyone tell me what the go is?

I havent taken the trims off yet, but i assume the door itself has mounting spots for speakers?

Is it as easy as cutting out the hole for the speaker and then fixing it up etc, then re-attaching it properly?

Or is it much easier to just find trims with existing speaker holes?

Yeah the GSR will have the spots to mount the speakers.
Either get evo door trims or cut out the gsr ones and then put some black cloth over it or just use the speaker grill ( I think thats what dean has done??)

What about some Wagon or GLXi sedan door trims??

Do they fit???

They prob do fit but can you get them in black?? i think only evo and gsr come in black?

Nah I just mounted my speakers over my GSR Trim with a neat mounting frame, because I wanted my speakers to be visible.
As mentioned, you will need the Evo Door cards to have the look you're after. They're pretty easily sourced too mate.

I'm pretty sure Jap Spec GSR's have the grills as well.

as dvscoupe said so do the ce glxi wagons, but the trim is grey not black.

might be able to paint the grills and cut out a gsr trim though?

Yes wagon door trims fit vinyl is grey and so is the speaker grill so you can paint the speaker grills out of any cc sedan or wagon door cards and mount that speaker grill in your doors.

GSR both aus spec and jap spec are optioned with speakers in the door cards

ONLY gsr are actually black, evo's are dark grey

i customized mine mate so it looks like they were made for the car with a flame cut out. i put my speakers on the metel inside the door. and done a oval cut out to show the speaker face

yeah thanks guys, i might have to hunt around for some trims...

still might see if i can fiddle around with the ones i've got too...

did the GSR's have speakers under the dash or something?

yes mate the gsr had 4 inch speakers.

just keep your gsr door trims and make (or get someone to make) speaker pods. that way you can fit 6.5'' speakers if you wish.
