Drag day

Hi peoples.

I know its late notice but if there are any members who are in the Northern Victoria region or Lower Nsw region i.e. near Albury/Wodonga, there is a Drag day/ Burnout comp on for all who want to come.
Also show and shine!
It is a 1/8th drag though, so the AWD's should kick some ass!

It is on the 1st of May. Start time is 10 Am.
Cost is $30 for Racing
$15 for spectators
$10 pensioners and children under 16 free.

It is at Wilby Park motorsports complex Located approx 50-70 km's from Wodonga.

I will attach a picture of the poster and an enlarged insert of the map.

The local Border Imports & car club will be there in full force also.

My uncle lived in wilby for like 30 years. He only recently left and moved to Wantirna. Owned the big old pub there near the fire station. He managed the armaments factory in mulwala

Hi guys just an update on the 1/8th mile drag day!

I had a awesome time today!

Got 7 runs in, 6 timed.

They didnt print out individual timeslips, but put up full A4 sheets outside the control office!

Out of those 7 runs i won 7! :lol:

I wrote down my times though! As below:
Runs: 1-Untimed beat a skyline.
2-9.40 - vc commodore 11.17! :lol:
3-9.46 -????
4-9.40- against my mate in the "fixed up" Soarer! He got 9.89
5-9.47- against my mate in the "fixed up" Soarer! He got 9.77
6-9.19!! Nailed it! best run- Toyota Cressida with a 1jzgett!! :shock: Ultimate sleeper!! I thought it was a joke! 10.04!
7-9.53 Against a rex! 98 model 9.87 :lol:

There was only one other mitsubishi there and that was a stock Evo 1 driven by Phil from kybram...anyone who was there at heathcote would remember him! Older bloke, well early 50's, but as he reminded me more experienced!!

Anyway there were 14 cars from Albury/Wodonga there, including 2 soarers(v8 and tt6) mk1 escort,mk2 escort,xr8, xr6t,929t,rs liberty,vl commodore Turbo, 98 rex, 2003 rex, s13 silvia, s15 silvia, and me!

With the times, I scored the 3rd fastest time (9.19) in the 4cyl street class behind the Evo 1 (8.86) and the rs turbo (9.02).

In the final, the two faced off and phil had a bad start and the rs just one by a wisker!

Funny enough, the fastest street 6cyl ran only 9.17 which is only .02 faster than me, and that was a xg falcon turbo ute!

Once again my mate is pissed and wants to race me at Heathcote, so when can we have another day there??
Apparantly there is a nissan club or gathering there in two weeks?

Lets do it!

Awesome day...

I'm still waiting for a gearbox for my Aspec so naturally I'm out of action till i get it going again.....sounds like an awesome day was had....
