Hi Folks,

I need numbers of people who will be interested to go to Drag Tag. Once I get numbers I can then organise what type of visit will be good for us weather it is a private job or just part of a night.

Depending on size we may need to pay some money for entry.

Good idea for a cruise there and back somewhere after.

I have also posted this on the Galantvr4.org site.

Cheers

Bob

is it for 4wd or could I convert to fwd I would have more power on the dyno, would this mean my car will be quicker?

Drag Tag

Drag racing is anything goes 4wd fwd rwd whatever. This is done on the Thursday nights. Cost is $10 for two passes (in your own car).

Saturday nights is the circuit racing where if you like you can hire a Skyline to do three laps of their circuit a cost of $15 only . How cool is that use someonelses car to total whilst yours sit pretty in the secure car park. Circuit racing at this stage is RWD only they are working on a Rally set up.

Alternatively you can come in early on the Thursday before 2000 hrs and they have a motorkana track out the back which costs nothing but the $8 entry and you can use your own car for that before the burnouts start. All you need is a helmet.

I suggest we get a couple of people together and sus it out first then you can make up your mind on what would be best for the club.

What I like about the venue is that if there is anything that happens to your car the site is secured so you don't end up having to tow your car from the side of the road where it can be destroyed by some numb nut that drives a undercoated falcodore.

My mate is keen and will meet us there and take us through the area as a scouting mission this might be the way to go let me know.

Cheers

i've been there once..

you can simulate it so you verse cars such as ferarri's and beat them.. also depending on your car, they may need to install some braces to secure it down on the dyno.

Not trying to be a wet blanket, but I would rather drive on a real track. The feeling of the road is very different to a sim.

Drag tag

Yeah I know there is no place like the real thing however for a bit of fun and a place where you dont loose your licence. I would just prefer to use one of their cars and enjoy.

The FPV drift ute uses drag tag. I was there when they where invited into have a look they brought the ute along before it went out to their maiden show at Mallalah (I think that is how you spell it) they gave it a shot and found that the car was all wrong they book the venue for the whole next day. And worked on the suspension settings on the ute as a result their first showing gave them a 4th place where the holden hsv ute DNF'd.

The system is very life like because you can actually input GPS co-ordinates which include rises and falls in roads set up your cars drag Co-efficient and select the road surface weather it is slippery new tarmac whatever.

They even have people building formula one tracks giving them the data to simulate and drive to see if the track works. This Sim is like no other it is the closes thing you can get without throwing your money down the drain in rubber or police fines.

Yeah I went down tonight, had a look around- saw some burnouts and cute 18y.o's

A few too many holden and ford jacket wearers for my liking, but I forgot that I do live in Australia :D

I was quite impressed with the joint- they've set the place up really well and spent a truck of cash decking it out.

Its something different, which is a good thing :D

All they need is a bar 8)

Drag tag numbers need around 10 cars

Hi Folks,

I would like to aim for around 10 vehicles for this Thursday if you want we can meet at la porchetta before we head over have a pizza or we could do it as a de-brief after the event.

Let me know by Wednesday Midday who would like to come you can PM me if you like. Your preference with If you want to eat before or after? or cruise? Whatever.

Those of you who would like to go to calder might be a good place to get your car sorted and singing on song before you go.

Cheers

Bob
