4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Buy a bearing/seal kit and rebuild it. Should be well under $200 for the kit and easy enough if your capable of removing the turbo yourself.

Mark the shaft/nut/comp wheel before dis-assembly, make sure you line them up the same way when you re-assemble and you won't need to get it rebalanced either.

Total cost: <$200 (I paid that in kiwi $ over here)
Total time needed: couple of hours...

Slightly off-topic, how can one tell if the CHRA is passing oil through? Would it get into the water/coolant lines?

-Alex

unless the CHRA is cracked it won't get into the coolant.

It'll either get into the compressor housing, and via the piping and intercooler into the engine and produce abit of smoke. Or it'll get into the exhaust housing and exhaust and create alot of smoke.

made in china yes. i can confirm this because we did a group buy on their mani's acouple months ago. physically they look pretty solid build and have been proven to last by afew members on here already.

i made the mistake of buying a chinese copy turbo before it only lasted 7000km's might try to source a good second hand one till i can buy a new one
I stripped it down last night ill try and get some pics posted up in the next few days of why not to buy cheap!!!!
