Does anyone know of somewhere to get a 3" Dump pipe to replace my standard evo II item. I'd prefer somewhere in melb. Don't really want to custom made at this stage as it will cost me an arm and a leg and I don't really have the time to wait for someone to play around with it for a while.

There's plenty of places in the US where you could get one. A 3 inch one ends up being a lot more expensive than the 2.5" ones that most people have though. Most people seem to flare the pipe out to 3" where the front pipe joins the dump.

Otherwise, buy the dump flange and head down to an exhaust shop.

Actually... I think PhilcommRally used to sell 3" ones, I dunno if they still do though.

I've just built one and really it is a bit of work to get it right! that is to keep it away from everything that shouldn't get hot and maintain the nice smooth bends.

I came out matched to the turbo exhaust housing 2.5" and flared over 2.5" inches in length to the 3" where it tucked under the sump and continued to the rear.

I collected the wastegate 8" from the flange where it became 3" in a 1" 7/8 diam. pipe also matched to the turbo exhaust.

So i would imagine a exhaust shop to do this would do either 1 of 2 things

do a good job but you would pay heaps for or do a cheap job in press bent pipe and you would pay less.

If really the car is mainly stock dont bother! or if you must get one from the states.

just my 2 cents worth

and yes mine is all TIG'ed up

There's a 3 inch one, but you'd need to modify it for the wastegate port.
It's over twice the price of the 2.5 inch one too, personally i think its a bit of an overkill. people are making 500+hp on the 2.5 inch housings.
If it were me, i'd be spedning the extra few hundred bucks on something else.

These guys are in the USA but are very friendly and easy to deal with. My dump arrived in just over a week after I transferred the money through PayPal.

mines not as clean and shiny like those, I also have a alternator and intercooler pipes down there too. not to mention a much thicker radiator.

the V band one would probably yeild the best results : if any!

and mine will also be painted and wrapped so you cant see all the crappy joins.

i wonder what they would be landed he in aus.

how much did he charge for that mate? Looks like exactly what i'm after. Does it clear everything? my Radiator is pretty thick so i'll have to make sure it doesnt hit under load.

hope it fits because i have the same radiator as you,

cost $400 in stainless with a extra flange to use

yeah, the vr4 has a crossmember that got in the way

the dump pipe was made for an evo

makes mine look like ****

but mine cost $57 dollars

and there is a flex etc that gets welded on the end of it.

I'll just shut up now.

I couldn't have the waste gas come in that low as i have intercooler pipes that pass that way.

My IC piping cuts down the back of the radiator, it cuts about 60cms of length out of the factory piping.

still it looked ok once painted and wrapped.
