Had a read of this article and it got me wondering if e85 will become more readily available at service stations or will it just slowly die off... I want to make the switch but im not so keen if its going to get harder to get from servos.
Anyone have any thoughts on it?

3 of the Caltex shops in NSW have stopped selling Eflex....this includes the closest one to me unfortunately.
Uniteds price keeps going up too, which Caltex are saying, they might follow suit.
Cheapest I have paid for eflex was 79c / litre a few months back. Its around 1.04 / litre at the moment

I always thought the fact that E85 is made from a renewable resource and also that emissions can be improved from running it was reason enough for it to hang around long term.

I imagined eventually it'd be all you can get, similar to when Super was fazed out.

i know united are sticking with it and are rolling it out across all of their stations as true e85 not eflex. caltex may start phasing out flex in favour of e85 only time will tell.

luckily for me theres a few uniteds local to me so i can get e85 readily

Yeah, I always run United as I'm not running an eflex sensor so don't really want to run the risk. The car was tuned on United so it's the safest option to stick with it for me.

I have a united close to me with e85 i only planned on using United for the same reason but i just dont want to get tuned on it and 12months down the track need a retune because its not available anymore..
Is there anything written from United saying they will continue with it. I had tuned my 180 on their 100oct only to have them phase it out 6months later which was annoying...

I wouldn't think it's disappear that quickly, if at all. Surely the fact that they have created a niche for themselves within the performance market and that they run the V8 Supercars on it will mean that it's going to hang around.

I was going to suggest asking United on their facebook page as you usually tend to get a response from them when it's a public questions, but it appears they've shut the page down...
