E85 on EVO 1-3/GSR

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Well I'll tell you now, if they are dedicated enough to spend time to get a nice idle and set up cold starts, plus have the car run well on the street with good vac, then stick with them.
Having a big outright power figure but a pig of an engine tune isn't worth it on a street car.
You still need a car to behave well at low rpm and cold starts, not just at WOT :)

EVO300... I'm really surprised by your comment on the lack of response on E85 !!! The dozens I've tuned give a minimum of 15% torque gain over the power curve, and some exceed 20%, with the boost remaining the same . Maybe yours is not set up correctly in the tune ?? I've never had comments like yours made...

I guess it comes down to how familiar the tuner is with E85 too. If they haven't dealt with E85 before then they might just tune the way they would with 98/100RON fuel and not realise how much more they can lean on the setup.

i think everyone has misread my post if you go back through the post you will see i am "looking" into getting tuned on e85 and me looking forward to the extra response wasnt a comment of disappointment because i was underwhelmed it was a comment of disappointment because i was looking forward to running e85 in my car but because of the stock internals am not sure if it can be done safely.

Sorry EVO300, I missed your earler post on the previous page. It's in context now, and I agree with Dougmos replies...
